The food is always good. Nice atmosphere. Inconsistent service but the new owner is working on it. One of our main “go to” Thai places in the Beach Cities. Plenty of seating. Free parking in the lot or on the street.

I usually order Phuket Thai for delivery before a pool day, but this time I decided to dine in before a beach walk—and it didn’t disappoint. Their $15 lunch specials are a local gem: choice of entrée, soup or salad, and rice. I went with the Spicy Basil, and wow—SO good, packed with fresh veggies and that perfect Thai chili kick. The Tom Kha soup was equally delicious—creamy, tangy, and comforting without being heavy.

Service was quick and extremely friendly, and the vibe is casual but welcoming—exactly what you want for a pre-beach lunch spot. The only reason this is a 4-star instead of 5? No full bar (I’m a cocktail lover — hence the soju mangotini) Otherwise, Phuket Thai is a must-try if you’re in South Redondo and craving authentic flavors before heading to the sand.

We visited here twice on our vacation last month. It was close to our hotel. It was delicious. We had the Thai pad and the garden fresh spring rolls. My husband had a chicken dish. Wonderful service and cozy atmosphere. We will visit the next time we come back.

I picked up a simple order; yellow chicken curry with extra veggies and orange chicken with satay chicken.
The satay chicken was dry, the curry did not have very many Vegetables, and there was no sauce on the orange chicken curry! We were extremely disappointed. 😕😕😕😕😕

I visited Phuket Thai in Redondo Beach this past Saturday and had a mixed experience. The food was undoubtedly the highlight — flavorful, authentic, and with a wide variety of options to suit different palates. Each dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared.
However, the service left much to be desired.
We arrived at 6:00 PM to find the restaurant surprisingly empty, which made the extended delays all the more confusing. After being seated, we placed our drink orders (wine, beer, and sparkling water), which arrived in a timely manner. But from there, the pace slowed significantly. It took about 20 minutes for our server to return and take our appetiser order, and another 20 minutes for the appetisers to arrive.
More concerning was the long wait after we finished our starters. It took roughly 40 minutes before the waitress came back to take our entrée orders. When the main dishes finally began arriving, they were served at inconsistent temperatures — some were lukewarm, some warm, and others nearly cold. One of our party members received his meal after the rest of us had almost finished eating. Throughout the evening, there were no check-ins to see if we wanted additional drinks or if we needed anything else.
The lack of attentiveness and delay in food service were disappointing, especially given the empty state of the restaurant when we arrived. It left us questioning what caused such a lapse in basic service flow.
In short, Phuket Thai offers tasty, well-executed dishes, but the poor service experience detracted significantly from the evening. Hopefully, the restaurant can improve its front-of-house operations to match the quality coming out of the kitchen.

This restaurant is unbelievable. They serve main dishes with no rice no sauces no anything it’s ridiculous. Horrible when you call there, they say my dishes. I paid $60 for takeout and I got two main dishes with nothing unbelievable

Ok it's extremely cramped in this hole in the wall. Usually a hole in the wall means delicious close to the heart food, but that was certainly not the case here. The vegetable fried rice was cold which is a bummer because I used to think thai had the best veggie rice. Second I ordered fried wings and when I tell you I've never seen wings this burnt before! I honestly thought they must not like me, because there's no reason to actually serve anything like that like it's ok, ever. So basically I hated this place and 10 out 10 would NOT recommend!
