For several years I was a steady customer at Rice Things. Life and circumstances made it such that I had not been back there in probably 15 years. What was once a great local Japanese eatery is but a shadow of its former self. It was sad. Maybe this isn’t a fair review as I’m comparing what I fondly remember with today’s reality, but comparing this with other like-priced Japanese restaurants Rice Things still comes up wanting.

I didn’t dining so I didn’t add atmosphere. I’ve ordered from them for about 13 months. I usually take it to go. I’ve only eaten there one time with guests. This is the second time that they have given me less than what they usually do. And it’s also on a Sunday that happened twice on the Sunday. I will never order from them again on the Sunday nor do I think I’m going to go back? I found another udon place that I can go to. That’s a little bit further away, but I think it will be worth it. I don’t appreciate paying good money. Less leaving 20% tip and getting less than what I usually get for the same order. I mentioned it to them months ago that it had happened on Sunday and it didn’t happen again. But it happened again today so I’m done. I won’t be back!

A hidden gem, hole in the wall. Used to be a cheap place to eat good food before inflation. Food is still good but a bit more pricey these days. Best bang for the buck is the 2 or 3 item combo. No matter what you order from here, everything is good and delicious!

I had the chicken curry. It was good value but way too mild for me. I like mine 2 on a scale of 0 to 10. Their curry is a 0.

poor service, rude guy would not tell me his name when calling to speak with someone in charge, hung up on me twice and blocked from calling again, food good be alright but if you treat your customers in a rude manner believe this kind of reviews on your page.. I know we all might have bad days but as a customer? should not be treated this way. I will be escalating this to the BBB review managing Team. Little do they know I work for the SOCAL Review management Team... GOOD LUCK.

Rice Things is one my family’s go to spots for lunch and dinner. Solid Japanese food at fair prices. Always worth a visit when you’re in the area.

Food is very good. But it's crazy how chicken rice and a fountain drink costs $20. Food is really good, but I can make the same meal at home for $3 and while it may not be restaurant grade good, it's still very good. Also, the atmosphere inside is VERY bland and just depressive like feeling I spend about $46 for two... $41 for food and about $5 in tip.

Restaurant owners are really on thin ice with its customers. Because once we stop eating out, good luck getting us to eat out ever again. The cashier could be a beat for kind. He was a older man, close 50 and just seemed serious. He shouldn't be the point of contact for a business
