Our group of 6 people really enjoyed the overall dining experience. We were a mix of locals (Los Angeles, Compton) and out of state travelers. The locals were pleasantly surprised to be introduced to this new place to eat and said they would definitely be returning. We had a mix of items - queso blanco (thicker than expected, but good nonetheless), guacamole, street tacos, salad, fajitas and lobster enchiladas. One complaint I heard was the spicy shrimp wasn't very spicy and that the fajitas had a ton of onions and peppers (which is actually a plus in my book, but I ordered street tacos). My cousin loved the lobster enchiladas. My aunt really enjoyed the mango salad, especially the sliced mangos (welcome surprise). Those of us with the carne asada all thought it was flavorful and tender. Thumbs up on the chips and the drinks. The best part of all is probably the location...great views of the waterfront and an easy walk to explore the other shops/bars nearby.

Decided to try this location of the Riviera Mexican for the view for lunch. We brought guests specifically for the fajitas. Lunch service for fajitas was very disappointing. They were not freshly grilled it seemed and were burnt and wilted. The protein was scant and there was no sizzling at the table. All up a fail. The other items were up to the Riviera standard. The interior decor only had a minor facelift from the prior restaurant occupant.

We were seated quickly despite how busy they were. The burrito and fajitas were fresh, well prepared and served hot. The server was helpful and attentive. Since it was a bit busy it was fairly loud.

I have visited the main branch Riviera Mexican Grill restaurant many times and really love it. Compared to that, the quality of the food here isn't bad, but it clearly feels inferior, while the cost is higher. As a result, it feels like you're paying for the atmosphere, which further lowers the satisfaction derived from the meal itself. Furthermore, having to pay for parking further lowers the overall satisfaction. The overall atmosphere is wonderful, and all the staff are very kind—truly excellent.

Sat on the patio overlooking the water - beautiful day. We had carne asada and fajitas - both were very good. Our server was friendly and gave us great suggestions. Margaritas were deliciously. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a fun lunch or dinner.

The refreshing California sea breeze created a pleasant atmosphere. The food was delicious and we enjoyed an impressive lunch.

The food and service were excellent. It was Mariachi night so that was a real treat. We enjoyed watching the sunset and the sailboats returning to the boat harbor from our table.

Good service. Kind staff. I love their pozole verde. Had their chicken fajitas once. They could have been a bit more flavorful. Chicken enchiladas are bomb.

The Birria Tacos were outstanding! Guacamole was same! Our server (a young woman) was awesome and 'on it'. Too many places in the South Bay have lazy / unmotivated servers. I was a waiter for years, so I can say this with authority. I wish we knew her name but we were sitting outside.

We were really looking forward to our dinner, but unfortunately the experience left a lot to be desired. Service: We had to ask three separate people for water refills before anyone finally came by. Once our food was served, our server never checked in on us again. Two of our dishes were supposed to come with tortillas, but it took about 10 minutes and multiple reminders before they arrived, leaving some of our family waiting to eat. Timing & Coursing: Appetizers and entrées came out all at once, which made the meal feel rushed and unorganized. When dessert was brought out, the table wasn't cleared, so we were left eating sweets on a crowded table full of dirty plates. Special Occasion: When making the reservation, I noted we were celebrating two birthdays and was told it would be acknowledged. Unfortunately, nothing was done—not even a simple candle with dessert. Food Quality: While most dishes were fine, the churros were very disappointing. They tasted like something straight from a grocery store freezer aisle and definitely not worth ordering. Overall, the lack of attention to service and details made what should have been a celebratory dinner feel pretty underwhelming.
