This restaurant left much to be desired. Initially, the ambiance seemed promising with a charming exterior and interior. The menu appeared enticing, setting high expectations for the dining experience. However, the disappointment began with the main dish, an Easter special, which the chef was unable to prepare as they had not yet arrived. This mishap, involving a classic dish like eggs Benedict, set an unfortunate tone for the rest of the meal. Attempting to salvage the situation, we adjusted our orders, only to encounter further issues. Despite requesting a gluten-free option, my dish arrived laden with sourdough bread slices—an oversight that speaks to a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Additionally, when requesting a simple salad, it arrived with croutons, despite specific dietary preferences. Even after a replacement was provided, it was drowned in dressing, deviating from the requested serving style. The service added to the debacle, with multiple errors and miscommunications. From bringing the wrong tea bag to neglecting to provide water, the staff's disorganization and lack of coordination were glaringly evident. At one point, it became comical as we found ourselves attended to by four different waiters in an attempt to rectify the numerous blunders. As the restaurant became busier, the chaos only escalated, revealing systemic issues in management and operations. Overall, the entire experience was a calamity, tarnishing what could have been a pleasant dining outing. It's regrettable to witness such potential squandered by incompetence and disorder.

The server was very pleasant. The food was exceptional. Even though we have eaten here many times, this was the first time for dinner. The chef really did a beautiful job on the fish and shrimp dishes. I would highly recommend it!

This was highly recommended and I was extremely disappointed with service. Had to ask twice for water and waited and waited for it. Thinking it was an off night, because there were only a few tables to be served~ slow night. Starters and entrée's took forever. I mean way too long. Music was so loud. Pork chop plate good , don't recommend flank steak entree.

Delicious meal and great service! I have some dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating making for a great experience. My husband and son were also pleased with their meals.

Finding this place was a happy accident. Stefanie took great care of us. The salad, burger, and dessert were excellent. Get everything with the hazelnuts.

The tiger shrimp and scallops entrée was outstanding. The menu is small but very focused and done well. Cocktails are also delicious.

Perfect place to meet a friend for lunch I met a friend for lunch at the Redondo Beach Hook and Plow and it was an exceptionally rainy day. As a result, we were the only ones in there. The waitress was very kind and we ordered the lunch with two choices for about $16.99 and I had hot tea. Delicious! I picked the clam chowder which has a bit of bacon in it and the grilled burrata, arugula and pesto sandwich. We have been to the restaurant before and are always happy to go back.

There was a hair in my food! I was so sad because I was biting into it! Made me want to ask for a refund ! The waiter gave me attitude when I asked if we could order now... I said it respectfully! It was quite a not so good experience! Other than that, the food is delicious! I recommend the tempura tacos and the fries were delicious ! Ambiance is so aesthetically pleasing and clean and they had heaters for outside!

We ordered a variety of starters which were all tasty. The cheese and meat board with five cheeses was interesting but very small portions of everything. The Brussel sprouts were good. They were served with capers; interesting. The truffle fries were the usual. The restaurant has a large attractive outdoor seating area. We sat indoors because it was cold. When we asked if the waiter would close the 2 large glass doors to the outside, they said no, so the inside was as cold as the outside. The entrees were tasty but nothing outstanding.

I cannot remark on the cuisine as we waited for some time to have anyone come to our table. The restaurant was not busy with many open tables. If they were short staffed, some acknowledged of that would have been welcomed. We did notice a server talking with a family for 15 minutes while we continued to wait.

An FYI.............there is a corkage fee of $20 for wine. Tonight I brought a bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay to the restaurant for dinner. Prior to making the reservation, I confirmd that there would be a fee and that the restaurant would allow me to bring my own wine. Upon arrival, the waitress said that they could not "uncork" a Rombauer because this particular wine is on their menu. During my phone call, the brand of wine was not discussed nor was it ever mentioned that the wine had to be of a vintage not served at this restaurant.

Every Valentine's Day my boyfriend and I want to try something new. Of course we waited last minute to make reservations and we found that hook and plow had openings so we booked it! We are glad we did because I think we are simple people so the fries and oyster are 10/10! We would go for that again! The restaurant was a little crowded that day but we expect that. The ambiance was very cozy! I will come again to eat oysters with my friends!

Christmas Eve dinner with friends and our dog. Fabulous service and food! We have been to Hook and Plow a few times and the wait staff remembered us and even our dog. All and all a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve.
