My son is visiting from college. He has three must eat places when he’s back home and one is Standing Room. Loves it!

The 1 Star is for the guy (I assume he is Korean) who works behind the cashier counter. I have been purchasing lottery tickets at this location for sometime. This guy’s attitude towards me has been impatient, never polite. I thought perhaps he had a hard day, so the next time I made sure that I was polite. Today this guy had the same attitude towards me, but he was very polite to the next customer who was a white man. I usually am not sensitive about my Asian female background, but this guy made me feel that I have been discriminated strongly. I’ll never visit this business again.

The legendary original Standing Room is still as good as ever with creative ornate burgers and plates that will keep you coming back for more. You can add short rib, extra patties, and all sorts of things to customize the burgers. They also have chicken, soft shell crab, pork belly, salmon and the list goes on. The quality of the food here is excellent, fresh and delicious every time. Sides here are done right too... brussels, SP fries are money. Their quesadilla is so rich and flavorful.. the kind of meal that you need a nap after. You order inside the liquor store then pick up at the outside window. Whatever you try here you can't go wrong.. amazing food in a cool oceanside location.. they have a few tables outside or you can go across Catalina and eat in the park. This Standing Room is a must try for the tradition and the great grub.

So I came in and I got the chance burger as well as the truffle fries and they were both phenomenal

Some of the best burgers I ever had in the south Bay definitely recommend the spot they have good portions and the flavors are always bomb and the customer service was excellent and you could customize a burger in multiple ways and we also have a patio on the outside, but yeah, I’m definitely gonna come back!

Amaizing burgers!!!!!! This is not a sit down restaurant. This is an order inside, grab a drink and a bag of chips from the liquor store, wait outside for your order and then eat it in your car, outside picnic bench or nearby park. Regardless, the burger I ordered was probably one of the best gourmet burgers I have ever had.

Stopped by Standing Room for a brisk bite and was pleasantly surprised by the elevated simplicity. The single cheeseburger arrived juicy and melty, with a perfectly charred bun and punchy sauce. Fries were crunchy with a hint of rosemary. The service counter buzzed gently, but they called my name with a smile. Ideal for a no-fuss, flavour-packed lunch.

This place is literally inside a liquor store, which threw me off at first, but the food is next-level. I ordered the Napoleon burger—it’s massive, stacked with short rib, bacon, and fried egg, all on a soft brioche bun. Every bite was juicy and over-the-top in the best way. They also have kimchi fries that are spicy, tangy, and perfectly crisp. Limited seating inside, but totally worth the wait
