Okay... It's at the gas station. Nothing fancy just a whole in the wall. There are other Grullenses but this is the one you want to try! Before I moved to the area I used to come here from SF because the carne asada tacos with green sauce are so good. Still one of the best tacos in the peninsula.

I don't normally do negative reviews but this was ridiculous. I really had to urinate so I stopped by here. Can't tell if the employees were being racist or something but they didn't seem to understand English?? I offered to buy something so that I could use their restroom but one of the workers kept saying "no restroom, no restroom." I just saw someone use it prior to asking so I insisted but they pretended to not understand me. Ridiculous.

Excellent al pastor! Grab a half dozen and eat in your car. Not a fancy spot but your taste buds will thank you.

The food is always on point the lady at the front window is not it, this is like my fifth or sixth time going there asking her to put the sauce on the side and she cakes it on my tacos with more sauce than tacos I'm pretty sure a lot of people have to deal with the same lady at the front window, her customer service is

Best taco spot in redwood city and my favorite grullense spot I've been to. A cheap, delicious, hidden gem.

Title: Delicious Tacos with a Convenient Location, but Pricey and Lacking in Customer ServiceEl Grullense has been my beloved dining spot for many years, and it never fails to impress with its awesome food and delightful flavors. The tacos they serve are bursting with tasty goodness and an incredible array of flavors that keep me coming back time and time again. The taste is consistently outstanding, showcasing the culinary expertise that defines this establishment. However, it's hard to overlook the pricing issue. Over the years, the cost of their tacos has steadily risen, nearing the $4 mark when ordering Lengua tacos. While the flavors justify some premium pricing, the higher costs make it a bit challenging to enjoy these delectable treats as frequently as one might desire. Moreover, I must acknowledge that El Grullense falls short in terms of customer service. The employees can be a bit rude, lacking the warm and welcoming demeanor that enhances the dining experience. It would greatly benefit the establishment to invest in improving their customer service, making each visit a more enjoyable and pleasant experience.Furthermore, requesting extra condiments seems to be met with confusion or disapproval. A more accommodating approach towards fulfilling customer requests for additional toppings would enhance the overall experience and leave patrons feeling more satisfied.Nonetheless, one of the standout advantages of El Grullense is its convenient location. Situated in an excellent area, it offers accessibility and ease for diners, making it a go-to spot for those seeking a quick and tasty meal.In summary, El Grullense offers delicious tacos with an impressive range of flavors and a convenient location. However, the rising prices, lacking customer service, and difficulty in obtaining extra condiments detract from the overall experience. If you're willing to overlook these downsides, it's worth a visit for the flavorful tacos.

Day time crew makes the food to perfection. Tortillas are made nice and crispy. The meat is well seasoned and tender. They complement the type of meat you order with the right salsa (red or green) to enhance the flavor, which is such a wonderful detail! When I receive the food it's nice and HOT.Night time crew don't have the same sazón. The tortillas are falling apart, the meat is over cooked and missing flavor, and salsa spice varies (not as consistent as day crew). Also, the tortas were soggy and bread was falling apart. They don't toast it nicely like the day crew.We usually went for late night cravings, but after visiting during lunch the flavor was vastly flavorful than the late night tacos I've had in the past. Both crews are friendly and willing to answer any questions.
