I recently visited Happy Donuts Redwood City, a charming local spot known for its freshly made donuts. The moment I bit into one, I could tell these were crafted with care—the donuts were wonderfully fluffy, light, and had just the right amount of sweetness. They tasted exactly how you'd hope a homemade donut would, with a comforting and satisfying texture that speaks to the quality of the ingredients and the skill of the bakers.
However, I did notice that the presentation could use a little polish. While the taste was spot on, the donuts lacked that visual appeal that often elevates the experience. They weren’t as eye-catching as you might expect from a specialty shop, which could be a minor letdown if you're looking for something Instagram-worthy.
Worth the try for sure early morning!!

The donuts are consistently excellent.
The oil is always hot enough to get a nice crisp on the outside of the cake donuts and leave the insides soft and fluffy.
French donuts are also consistently light and eggy. Raised donuts and bars are done well too.
No silly extra frosting, meat, and pretzels, just good old traditional donuts done well.
I have been coming here for over a decade and believe it is one of the best straight-up donut shops in the Bay.
