An ok place to get pupusas when Cipotes is closed (on Mondays). Pupusas and crudito were ok, just good enough. Coffee came after I finished the first pupusa. I Asked for hot sauce, but never got it. I got there just after it opened, and I got the feeling that I was interupting their work. I eas the only customer. A very distant second best to Cipotes.

I am a customer almost every weekend but lately they are putting very little sauce and a lot of curtido for the pupusas.... another thing is that they put a lot of oil in it, it is as if they put them in deep fryers, they taste more like oil than the flavor of the pupusa . They have raised the price to give less sauce. Ami see is not good. They are delicious, I don't complain about the flavor, just that they are putting too much oil in them. I am thinking about whether to change for these reasons and I have been a customer of yours for a long time.

My favorite taco place in the Bay Area! Food is cooked fresh abd is delicious. Karlita’s popular gets very busy during lunch and dinner hrs so plan ahead or be prepared to wait you won’t regret it!

This is a wonderful hole in the wall Mexican food place. Not fancy, but totally delicious. Their pupusas are particularly good. Made to order. My favorite is the pork and cheese. This place is the real thing — no texmex pandering

I used to love this place. Then the prices started going way up. I stayed away for awhile, but came back because of past good food memories. I was disappointed enough this time that I plan to ghost Karlita's permanently.Contrary to other reviews, the staff has always been friendly and hard working. The problem this time was the poor quality of the chile relleno burritos. In the past they were extraordinary. This time, the chiles were small, tough and stringy; the cheese was missing... finally found in the bottom 1/3 of the chili (the copious melted cheese used to be one of the best parts), the rice and beans were ok, and there was no avocado (as advertised) I could taste. I was really disappointed. So Karlita's decreased quality, increased price and apparent "shrinkflation" are stuck in my mind now.

Tried a 2 pupusa plate and 2 shrimp tacos shared for 2 people. I tried the frijole pupusa which is beans and cheese, I thought it was okay. The one the BF got was very cheesy. The shrimp tacos were good. It was enough food for the two of us, we even took a shrimp taco home. Order at the counter, a small simple room in the back to eat, or outside in front. Mexican music was playing.
Vegetarian options: They have bean and cheese pupusa, I think also a cheese only pupusa. They did not have vegetarian "meat" options for tacos. But you could get a vegetarian burrito with beans and no meat, probably quesadilla also.
