Four different entres, all well prepared, well presented, well served and well seasoned. Excellent experience from start to finish.
We came to Mistral with high hopes for a great meal, but were a bit disappointed. The white wines by the glass that we ordered were excellent. As we were not too hungry we ordered 3 appetizers only, and asked that they come out 1 at a time. The Frito Misto tasted like it had been frozen and went from bag to fryer, the egg rolls were tasty. The poached pear and burrata were just OK. The service was very attentive. The covered patio was heated and made for a comfortable meal.
We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday with 15 people. We sat outside in the gorgeous patio near the fire pit. The service was incredible. The food was great and the ambience was top-notch. Highly recommend.!
Dinner was nice, food was good, service was a bit off. Our bread didn't come w/Appetizers as ordered, after food was delivered we asked the manager and he said they were out and were baking more. There were no knives on the table at all, so, steak couldn' t be cut nor the short ribs. Our bill came before dessert was served. We will be back as it is a neighborhood favorite...a little more attention to detail
Great service, very attentive to the customers. Food was good, sizes are generous. I had the sampler (hummus, etc) and it was okay nothing special. Then I had the paella, that was a little better. My husband had the frittata (I think are calamari), it was okay, and the lamb, that was ok too. For dessert the bread pudding, I should say okay too. I will go again to try other dishes, maybe I would like it more next time!
It was our 20th anniversary and we chose to celebrate here where we held our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. We are regulars and this was the perfect restaurant to celebrate this special occasion. The staff and food were both excellent. Highly recommend Mistral.
We had great service and all of the dishes and drinks were great. Our waitress provided a couple of recommendations and they were spot on! There was a large party in the outside seating area and when the door was open it was pretty loud but the staff did a nice job of keeping the door shut for most of our time there.
Large gathering was taking up about 75% of the outside space, just luck of the draw. Was celebrating anniversary/BDay combo, they gave out a nice champagne and a free dessert which was appreciated. Food was on point, their homemade (pita) bread was great. Everything served an presented well. Both of us ordered steaks and both were under cooked. Our medium came out medium rare, and our medium rare came out rare. Not end of the world, but I assume the party was taking priority. We ordered drinks to come out with dinner, because the table was too small to hold our food. Drinks were martini and a coke, didn't get to the table until about 20 minutes after our entrees were served and we were almost done. Dessert was great, cobbler, but took about 45 minutes to come out. We weren't in a rush, but again, assume due to the large event going on. Just picked a bad night to come, oh well. Server was great.
Adjacent to the former Oracle headquarters in Redwood Shores, Mistral Restaurant and Bar emerges as a concealed culinary gem.
Mistral, a charming waterfront establishment, offers an exceptional array of creative dining options, encompassing steak, lamb, and seafood. Their Paella stands as a culinary masterpiece that must be savored. Their French Onion soup and octopus salad are unparalleled. The establishment also boasts an extensive wine list and a diverse selection of cocktails. Notable among these are the espresso martini and the bacon old fashioned. The espresso martini is an exceptional experience, surpassing any I have had previously.
The bartenders, Antonio, Mike, and Britney, are exceptional individuals who have cultivated a profound passion for their craft. Engaging in a conversation with Antonio was an enriching experience, as he shared his extensive knowledge and expertise in wines and whiskey. Antonio’s deep understanding of the subject matter was truly impressive.
Despite the presence of other establishments, Mistral provides a unique sense of belonging. Upon entering the establishment, guests are greeted by Gin. Gin consistently ensures that patrons are well-cared for. This provided a welcome respite after a challenging week, and I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with individuals like Antonio, Mike, Gin, Britney, and all their staff. Their dedication to their craft and genuine interest in their customers have garnered them a loyal following.
There were a couple items on menu and specials menu that were not available. The second round of drinks were very flow to come out. Otherwise a good experience.

What a wonderful place. Staff was friendly, food was excellent and it is overlooking the lagoon for a beautiful view. I had the rib eye steak which was perfectly cooked and my wife had the chicken risotto, which she loved.
The service was exceptional , cocktails, appetizers, and food came out very quickly. Recommend the crispy fritto misto and the pizza since it’s homemade.
Had a great meal tonight. Paella, shrimp&scallops, halibut. Spring roll appy. Sat outside by the fireplace, (not burning!). Gorgeous night. Wonderful, friendly service!
The food and service at Mistral were fantastic. We had the octopus appetizer, Ribeye steak, and the paella, and each dish was a culinary delight. We'll definitely make Mistral a regular stop in our dining rotation.
This is a great hidden restaurant. It's away from any downtown, so there aren't many people there. The food is amazing, the service prompt, friendly and on point.
