Food and services are wonderful. I had the beef Wellington and my husband had the cod , both were delicious. We like everything except the desserts are kind of too sweet. Too sugary compared with other fine dining restaurants we have been to.

Sophisticated, yet highly approachable. The food was world class both in taste and presentation. The wine selection was vast. The most impressive feature was their staff. Everyone showed great care for us and our experience.

We definitely enjoyed our prix-fixe dinner at Selby's from beginning to end. Vicente, our server, was phenomenal and took the time to explain every detail of each dish, and the rest of the staff were just as professional. Every single bite was bursting with flavor, and each dish was perfectly executed in presentation, temperature, and taste. Absolutely delicious, and we highly recommend Selby's.

Service was great, waiter was very friendly and polite. Food was great as well, with the dry aged duck breast and desserts standing out the most. The black truffle celeriac mille-feuille that came with the duck breast was a bit overwhelming and too heavy in flavor. For the persimmon chicory salad, the balance between flavors was great but the ratios of persimmon to chicory were off (not enough persimmon) making the bitterness of the chicory a little overpowering. Other than that, the food and desserts were amazing.

We had a great time celebrating anniversay there. I put a note in Open table reservation, upon arrival. The staff greeted us with a card that the all stuff has signed on to celebrate the anniversary. the food is amazing

I'd like to update my previous review. Bob followed up and personally helped resolve the e-gift card issue I experienced. He was patient, professional, and made sure everything was handled properly. While my initial visit was frustrating, I truly appreciate Bob's effort and follow-up. Thank you for resolving the matter.

It's definitely over priced and totally not worth the money. I really regretted having the new year eve dinner there. And can you believe that those 4 dishes will cost you 350 dollars (with tips)?

We dined into celebrate our anniversary. Their service was phenomenal, treating us with special desserts and welcome drinks. Amazing starters, entrees, but not sure about the desserts—they were too sweet in our opinion. The staffs were incredibly kind. Would we pay $300+ just for the food? Probably not. For the ambience and to experience a fancy Michelin restaurant? Yeah.

For someone like me this is a place I like to go to for a special occasion. Service is top notch. The servers and staff are attentive and knowledgeable of the food. Food is great and flavorful. You can tell they take pride in their work. The environment is nice, Quiet, little dark. Valet is free and easy to do. Overall great restaurant and experience.

Entree were great, one of the best duck breast I’ve tried, but very disappointed with starter & dessert, I meant they’re ok, but feels like they don’t belong to this place and aren’t on par with entree.

Service were excellent with friendly valet which is nice as you don’t need to worry about parking.

They have valet parking here, and the Asian valet guy was really funny 😂
The bread, duck dumplings, and lobster were all super good! The vibe was nice too. I’d definitely come back if I get the chance.

Beef Wellington always the best in the Bay Area!

Chef, thank you for the Chestnut Velouté — the presentation is beautiful and the flavor combination is thoughtful. I hope you don’t mind a small piece of feedback that may be helpful for future iterations.

Although the current version uses braised apples, I genuinely feel that pear would bring out a more elegant and fresh sweetness that pairs naturally with chestnut. Pear holds a delicate fragrance and a softer, more autumnal profile; it would brighten the velouté without adding the slight “stewed fruit” heaviness that apples sometimes bring.

For the squash element, I also wanted to share that Japanese kabocha could elevate the dish even further. It has a denser texture and a deeper natural sweetness, which would give the velouté more body and make the overall flavor rounder and more comforting.

These are just small suggestions because the concept has so much potential, and I truly hope my thoughts can contribute positively to its future refinement. Thank you again for the care you put into the dish.

Very well decorated restaurant with fantastic fine-dining vibe, the serving staffs were very nice and professional. All of the 3 courses were not bad, however, the price including 5% San Mateo mandatory service fee on top of many supplemental priced dishes and all the tax and tips were a little steep.
