The food was deliciously spiced with just the right amount of heat, very fresh served with a smile. The stuffed eggplant with ground beef was our favorite. Will come back again for sure.

We visited Zadna Grill in Redwood City for a family iftar during Ramadan, and overall had a really nice experience.

First off, the service was outstanding. The staff checked in on us throughout the meal and made sure we were comfortable. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming — when they found out we were breaking our fast, they brought us dates and nuts to start our iftar, which was such a thoughtful gesture and really set the tone for the evening.

The food itself was good and the ingredients tasted very fresh. this restaurant serves all halal meat! I also appreciated that most plates came with fries and salad alongside the main dish — it made the meals feel well rounded without needing to order extra sides. The mint lemonade was especially refreshing and paired well with the food.

In terms of standout items, I highly recommend the spicy kebab halabi and the chicken wings. Both had great flavor and were definitely highlights of the meal. I also recommend their arabic shawarma, mint lemonade, and falafels.

That said, I do think there are a couple areas where the restaurant could improve. The kebab portions felt a bit small, and overall the plates could use a bit more meat for the price. The kebab technique also feels like it could be refined further — the flavor is there, but the execution could be tightened up. Seekh kebabs need to be bigger, with juicier meat.

One suggestion that would make a big difference, especially for groups, would be offering a family-style kebab platter. It would be great to have all the meats served together on one platter with rice, salad, and fries on the side so everyone can share, rather than receiving multiple individual entrees with sides already plated.

The restaurant also has plenty of seating, which makes it a good option for families or larger groups.

Overall, the food was good, the ingredients were fresh, and the hospitality was truly top notch. With a little refinement to the kebabs and slightly more generous meat portions, this place could easilyyyy become a standout spot in the area.

Food was okay, portion sizes are wayy too small for the price. Meat was slightly overcooked and could use more seasoning. Maybe good for those who are less familiar with the cuisine, wasn't very authentic. Service was good and ambiance was nice.

The falafel wrap was very refreshing and flavorful - the falafel was cooked well and had a perfectly crispy exterior. I will definitely be coming back!

5 stars. Food was amazing. We have been searching for authentic Lebanese/Mediterranean and this place has beaten all around so far. Meat was super tender (most places are dry) and all starters were on point. My meatball dish was beyond anything I have ever had.

I was super excited to check out Zadna, as it was rated 4.6 stars. With such a rating, this has to be one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area, rivaling Dish n Dash or Evvia (on the high end). Given that it is a middle of the line, everyday price joint, it excited me even more to see what would be possible.

Let's just straight to the food. There's not much to talk about atmosphere - it is a modest restaurant setting - and the service was family-like and friendly. So the food.

One of the key benchmark items are the falafels. Are the crunchy while flavorful. Unfortunately, I cannot say this. Yes, they have decent falafels but it just didn't ring my taste buds as some do. On top of it, they come with a dressing sauce which I'm not sure it enhances the flavor profile.

The dips were solid but nothing special. They were absolutely fresh and flavorful. But this was not a unique experience like Mykonos in Burlingame. The salad was good. The halloumi cheese was also good. But again, nothing was mind blowing.

At this point, I was getting a bit curious how this joint has scored a 4.6. It's above average Mediterranean food served in a family-like setting. But this does not pass as an excetional category.

Now my party did have a good time. And yes, we will return. But I do have to say it is a bit overrated.
