Excellent dinner. We came at 7 on a weeknight and there was plenty of space. The live seafood is very cool to see as you get in. The duck was top notch, and the portions were extremely healthy - we had so much leftover. Can’t wait till we comeBack!

The dim sum prices are reasonable, but the slight saltiness deviates from what I'm accustomed to. It's not the best, but it's worth a try for a different experience.

Food was subpar and they force charged a tip. They made a fuss when I brought it up. No professionalism. Check your receipts everyone and don't get scammed

Since reopening after a remodel, Asian Pearl has raised its game and is now a first rate dim sum restaurant. The food is top-notch. most of it is excellent and we haven't had anything mediocre. We had to try the shrimp dumplings with squid ink wrappers, expecting it to just be a gimmick. Not so - the wrappers add an intriguing second flavor. I love deep-fried taro root dumplings, but they always have just a tinge of ammonia. Not a bit here though, and the outside is chewy and less greasy than most places. The drippy ceramic tea pots have been replaced with copper ones that don't spill a drop. The ambience is much improved, and if an eight foot high TV screen on one wall is your idea of elegant decor, you'll love it. (The sound, thankfully, is off.)If you had given up on Asian Pearl, it's time to give it another try. And don't leave without checking out 99 Ranch Market, the Asian food superstore, and all the other Asian restaurants in this mall.

Okay dimsum restaurant. As of July 2023 they reopened under new management, I think. The only thing I really noticed is that they added a giant TV on o one of the walls. The restaurant looks modern and new with a bit of fancy pants flair. Chairs are not very comfortable as they have this weird placement of a metal bar behind your calve muscle that just digs in. Otherwise the food was okay and prices were fair. The size of the dim sum pieces were actually very big and they came out very fresh (steaming hot). The flavors were good and seasoning was on point. I wish the cheung-fun noodle had more sweet soy sauce. The wait staff were busy so we didn't get as much service until more of the patrons were done with their meal, that's when we saw more of the staff.

Food used to be good but post COVID this place has gone downhill. The food simply isn't good anymore. They even forced an 18% tip on top of the bill by already including it in the final price. Is that even legal?A single pot of tea for a table of 5 that Chinese restaurants normally serve for free costed me 8 dollars.Additionally the peking duck was served cold. When my sister asked if the duck can get heated the waitress replied "No" then walked away. Bad food, bad service, and a forced 18% tip

i went and ate there probably 2 hours ago the waitress we had tried to charge us gratuity there with only 2 people eating at my table charged us a 15% service fee my original bill was 146.80 and with the 15% service fee it came out to 168.40 luckily i looked its illegal to charge service fees at restaraunt starting july 24 2022 so i complained to the manager and they took off the service fee she tried stealing from us i wouldve been happy to tip as i use to waiter at a restaurant i probably wouldve gave more but since she tried to steal from me she got 0 tip so make sure to check your receipt before you pay at this restaurant!

Went back for a dinner after a number of years. The food is still good and prices surprisingly reasonable.

Classic solid dim sum spot. Nothing too special in my opinion, but service is quick and good and hits the spot each time. 99 Ranch is conveniently right next door, so it's a great 2-in-1 spot to pick up groceries right afterwards. Came with a small group of four people and they were able to seat us right away on a Sunday noon. We ordered a variety of dishes, and each of them came out warm, yummy, and filling. None stood out a ton from other dim sum spots except for the har gao. Personally, I'm a fan of thinner wrappers and the har gao they made was thinly wrapped yet stuffed with shrimp which was *chefs kiss*. They don't do the rolling dim sum carts unfortunately. If you're looking for that, I recommend checking out Saigon Seafood which is a block away.

First timer at the Asian Pearl Seafood Restaurant and had an overall positive experience. This location is inside the Pacific East Mall in Richmond. We came in as a party of three on a weekday and we were able to be seated right away. However, it didn't take too long for all the tables to fill up. It became immediately apparent this a local spot for many. We ordered a mix of various dim sum to share and everything was fantastic. Though they were busy, our food came out fairly quickly and all of our food was super fresh and tasty. Service was okay. I wouldn't say it was warm or friendly, but they were efficient with requests and the staff were polite whenever I had the opportunity to interact with them. The restaurant itself seemed clean and well-maintained as well. As noted, our order consisted of several types of dim sum. These included: - Shrimp Dumplings - Shiu Mai - Shanghai Steamed Dumpling - Steamed Beef Balls - Dried Fried Shrimp Balls - Shrimp & Chive Dumplings The dim sum was tasty, well-made, good quality, and great size with lots of filling. Price point was affordable and justified the product without a doubt. As a first timer, I will definitely be back sooner than later!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I have come here so many times over the years, and they never disappoint. The food is always hit and fresh, and the servers are always very friendly. The dining room is huge, so plenty of room for both small and large parties. I would recommend getting here a little early, because it is usually very popular and busy. All in all, an outstanding restaurant. I will definitely continue frequenting here. I absolutely recommend coming here.

We went there recently for a family reception. Food was ok, but the service was meh. Having attending many Chinese banquettes when I was a kid, I was impressed with the higher-end menu selection. Unfortunately, the quality of the food itself seemed to miss the mark. I think the best part was probably the soup. As for service, they need to realize that it's okay to use forks in a Chinese restaurant. You would think that if someone asks for a fork, they would at least bring out enough for the whole table vs. one person at a time, especially when some of the menu items can't be eaten with chopsticks. When the 2nd and 3rd person at our table each requested forks, I thought they would have figured it out by now. But, nope. They continued to bring one out for each request. Asking for napkins or a glass of water was no different. The ambiance was nothing short of your typical Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. We had about 8 tables reserved, seating 10 people per table. During the reception, I was told that it was "okay" to spread out and occupy more than our reserved tables. I didn't think anything of it other than they wanted the restaurant to look more crowded than it really was. Luckily, we all stuck to our original tables because it appeared that they were charging by the table as opposed to by the head, which was already a hefty price. One of the biggest complaints I read on Yelp was the restrooms. The reviewers did not lie. The restrooms were ferocious! Having read it beforehand, I was warned, but not prepared. Would I patronize them again? Maybe for a light lunch break in between shopping breaks, but not for a large party event. Just make sure you don't need to take a bathroom break.

Delicious and well-prepared dim sum, as well as an array of other dishes. Most items are family-sized portions, they take reservations, and they're comfortable accommodating large groups - so it's a great place to host a family gathering or event. We visited for a friend's birthday - the service was amazing, the staff were kind and welcoming, made sure we had everything we needed, and even offered our friend a birthday toast. They don't serve hard alcohol here, but their bottle fee is very reasonable, so you can bring your own. We had so much food, everyone went home with leftovers! Overall, a great experience!
