Loved their almond croissant without being expensive compare to other pastries shops. The lady who served was nice as well.
Delicious selection of cakes and breads that made it tough going selecting just a few. In the end we settled on the lemon meringue tart, apple crumble slice and a baked cheesecake. All were delicious. We also grabbed a cold sausage roll for heating later on and it was a monster. I have reviewed Almost French Bakery before but it’s missing off Zomato.
Feeling like a sweet treat to take home to have with my coffee, I was attracted to the window display at Almost French. Several of their pastries looked tempting and I decided upon a yoyo cookie and apple crumble slice. The lady serving was pleasant enough, but there isn't a whole lot of atmosphere here to make me feel like I would come back. I would probably not dine in as it's not an overly inviting space. My pastries were fresh, but nothing overly memorable. The yoyo had a nice flavour and texture; but the crumb on the slice didn't hold together at all which made it really difficult to eat. The apple and pastry were tasty, but the crumble needed something extra to bind it all together. It was quite dry, which was a shame as it really looked appealing. My experience was pretty good, and I would give Almost French another chance as they do have other yummy looking treats.
There were so many delicious looking pastries I wanted to buy them all but we had to limit ourselves and chose the baked cheese cake which was a bit disappointing, the croissants which were quite good and an apple muffin which was quite nice.
My favourite cafe in Richmond! I go here at least once a week. Excellent hot and cold snacks. Favourites are the quiche (tried all four, the Lorraine is my favourite) and pies and sausage rolls. Of the cold snacks, I love the apple slice and the cheesecake. My wife says the Portuguese tarts are excellent also. The croissants are excellent and when in season the hot cross buns are top quality and reasonable price. I am told they cook everything daily and that seems to make sense. The ambiance is friendly rather than pretentious which is refreshing.
