I am a Reuben lover. It's more difficult than it should be to find a good Reuben around here. The place smelled "old" and not fresh when I walked in and was kind of dingy but I'm all for a family owned business. I was greeted by a sweet older man and woman. They were super kind, telling me it was the best Reuben ever as I seemed a little unsure but excited to potentially find a hidden gem. Unfortunately, I am not a fan. I feel like someone would only like this if they've never had a "real" Reuben. True Reubens are juicy, fresh, and sooo flavorful with that saltiness and then tangy dripping sauce, melty cheese, and high stacked pastrami on lightly toasted bread. True Reubens are ooey gooey flavorful bliss. Now to the Reuben I received from this place... it was dry, yes stacked pastrami but only making it look like a lot of pastrami due to the extra layer of soggy bread in the middle... like Big Mac style, yuck. Not a lot of cheese and definitely missing that tangy thousand island dressing. It was supposed to be on there, I think I saw it BUT there was barely any. It was so salty and I LOVE salt but that's literally all I could taste was a ton of salt and a lot of bread! Saurkraut was cheap store bought, nothing special. I really wish I could give this place a better review but for a $20 sandwhich after a couple dollar tip this was nowhere worth it. I don't think I'd pay even $10 for a sandwhich like that. Arby's used to have a Reuben (I don't know if they still do) and that was better than this. I can't recommend much of anything when it comes to places around here with a good Reuben but the Beach Hut Reuben is much better than this and worth trying before this place.

Over $17 for a Reuben? I did it and will never do it again. Red flag.....he busted out a loaf of Orowheat bread. For $17 I'd expect he'd bake his own bread. Pastrami was dry. Sauerkraut was blah. Actually the entire sandwich was a dry blah. I would've been $17 richer if I'd gone home and had an apple and granola bar. I think I'm done eating out. Everything is overpriced garbage

It’s a small place but it packs a punch. The people are nice and they know how to build a good sandwich. It’s so close to home cooking that you’ll forget you didn’t make it. In a world where there is so much fast food I’m happy we still have places like this.

The pastrami sandwiches are awesome! The pastrami is perfectly sliced (thin) and the flavor is spot on! The bread (I had rye and my husband had the Italian bread) was nice and fresh. The coleslaw was perfectly made and not soupy. The owners are wonderful! They are kind, friendly and helpful. You can not miss out eating here. I'm just sorry it took me so long to try this place.

I’ve passed this place several times before and I finally got around to giving it a try and now I am kicking myself for not stopping by sooner. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. I will absolutely be returning whenever I get an opportunity!

The owners of the shop are so sweet and kind. Their food is amazing. We travel from DIXON and Grass Valley to go eat there.

Stopped in quick so I would have something to eat before a 6 hour shift nearby. Was pleasantly surprised to find a family run business of a gracious couple. Pastrami Reuben with Swiss was a generous amount of homemade hot pastrami with a good tasting simmer sauce already on it, sourkraut, thick homemade russian dressing and dill pickle slices which I added to the sandwich.
Would recommend.

Quality authentic rueban. They make all of their Saurkraut and Dressing in house! The owners are great and super inviting. You won't be dissapointed.

The bread they use for the roll is very good. The owner is very nice. The super long sandwich is really visually pleasing. The meat seems like it was overly heated up causing it to be very rubbery and chewy. Prices seem reasonable for what you get. Not the worst sandwich I've ever had but definitely not the best. For a place that specializes in a single sandwich type I was hoping for more.
