The table where sticky, the chips are bland and unsalted. The sauce was not really good. Went with a party of 5 Hispanic peeps and myself and did not pass the test. I order a burrito to play it save and I was not able to finish it. Steak was hard and full of onions and overall this is probably the worst place I been too in the bay area. Has potential if they cook there meat to order and not have precook. Trust me we can tell the difference.

I sworn every Tuesday I been eating here. Lately I been dining inside instead of ordering take out. The main problem is learning to park close to the curb in front of the restaurant. My service at El Sol has been great. No complaints about slow service and being ignored. They surely make sure you are taken good care of. I will say dining inside El Sol is relaxing. I feel like home but at least I do not leave a big mess when I am dining inside. I wonder how the restaurant is like when it has plenty of people dining inside. It seems like Rodeo needs to advertise the place, meaning advertisement in St. Patrick's bulletin or a Facebook post. The restaurant seems hidden in the quiet side of Rodeo. El Sol has a regular customer that will be dinning inside every Tuesday. Just don't call me NORM!

I went in, spoke politely to the cute lady that was taking my order, and she was very nice. Anyone who's left low Yelp rating because of their attitude should be forced to trade places for a week with this kind and decent woman. This is Rodeo, can you imagine the sub-human Bayo Vista Trash that she has to deal with on a daily basis, (Trust me Homie, even your own Mother doesn't want you around) Back to reviewing the restaurant, the Chile Rellenos are great, I've been eating their Chalupas for 40 years, you can't miss, and their Mole is excellent! But, those potatoes, oh me oh my, can I please have Abuelas recipe??? Those potatoes are so damn good. El Sol is an outstanding restaurant!

I absolutely love El Sol authentic Mexican food. From the ground beef and potatoes to the enchiladas or quesadillas. The food is always fresh and served with a smile. I also appreciate them not being overpriced.

Ive been eating here since I was little. Comfort food to me and very local. The food is okay now, service is trash the parents used to be so nice and kind and their kids who run it now are so rude and make you uncomfortable for being there so it's a no on the service for me. I know it's hot in there on warm days but they've ruined my experience. Good note. Flour chips are so good

The food here is always pretty good, when you’re actually able to get it. This place is NOTORIOUS for closing earlier than their posted business hours.

Best Mexican food in West Contra Costa, enchilada sauce is amazing, along with chips, salsa, tacos, burritos, ordered weekly on Door Dash, and the order is always correct, hot, and well packaged. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Tiny burritos. Ok place to eat. Wish they had big buritos like they had 20 + years

Grew up eating here. It's good. But the attitude of the people working there makes me question if it's even worth spending my money with them. Ridiculously and consistently rude.

I took my friend here for lunch this past Tuesday who is retiring at 84. The restaurant was nicer than expected but the service was a bit cold. There was a man at the counter who never greeted us and when spoken to, he barely responded. We didn't know we had to order and pay before we sat there. We stood there in front of the counter and tried to read their menu board which was handwritten and confusing. No one mentioned there were menus to look at. Finally, after about 5 minutes of standing there, we were told to pay for our orders. I got a shrimp combo burrito with beans (10.50) and my friend ordered the El Sol salad, side of beans and soda. The El Sol salad turned out to be shredded iceberg lettuce with a bit of cheese on top. The side of beans was about 6 dollars. His meal cost about 16 dollars and he had iceberg lettuce and beans! I enjoyed my combo burrito and there was a good number of tiger prawns in it but I felt sorry for my friend who didn't say anything positive about his meal. I paid for his lunch and he also ordered a "bean dip" for an additional 6 dollars. Basically, he got two bowls of beans and lettuce and we paid about 22 dollars for that. I feel like the food here is pretty basic and it's a hit or miss. You have to order carefully and don't expect great service. The man (manager or owner) was training a nice high school boy who was very sweet but we were ignored in the beginning. I'm not sure if I will come back. Also, I noticed that all their patrons are men and I was the only woman here.

Called in an order for pick up yesterday and when we arrived it was all set to go. Excellent service and the food is delicious. Our go to mexican restaurant from now on.
