Very different menu…. But very different in a GOOD way! Just by chance we were passing through the area and saw this place on Sonoma Magazine as a top place for pupusas’s. They had the most interesting take on pupusas; A hamburger-style pupusa where you choose two pupusa’s as the buns and any protein for the patty, which is not really a patty but chopped up protein like you would eat in a taco or burrito. Boy oh-boy… The finished product is a beast! Delicious and filling! The owner is so friendly and hospitable guiding us through the menu. I came in with low expectations when arriving but left with the best impression hands down! Will I be back…? DEFINITELY!

Absolutely the best! The food is always amazing. Service is amazing & welcoming. Carlos, the owner, turned us onto a few amazing things on the menu. It was all fantastic. 4 years in a row, stopping here on the way back from the Russian River. It's a delicious tradition.

I don’t even know where to start bragging about Don Julio’s! It was our first time visiting after reading that they were voted Best Burger in Sonoma County—and let me tell you, this is not your traditional burger.

Their burger is made with cheese-filled pupusas as the buns, and it is every bit as incredible as it sounds! We were greeted with a warm, “Hey guys, welcome in! Find a seat wherever you like and we’ll be right with you!” It felt like we’d been regulars for years, even though it was our first visit. The whole vibe was welcoming, laid-back, and family-friendly.

I ordered the Pupusa Burger with orange-marinated chicken, lettuce, pico, chipotle crema, and guacamole—OMG. The flavors were amazing! The chicken was super flavorful without being too citrusy, and the portion was so generous I couldn’t even finish it.

I also had the Michelagua—a refreshing mango-pineapple agua fresca with chamoy and Tajín. It was the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy.

Helpful friendly staff to guide you through ordering the large pupusas and drinks etc. I usually get lorroco with extra curtido. Often has a cool breeze. Casual outdoor patio and indoor seating with music.

Excellent service! As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the warmest smile! The food... the depth of flavor was amazing! The quantity is incredible, one burrito could feed three people. We ordered a beefy breakfast burrito, a plantain burrito, and two papuas. What a wonderful experience.

The pupusas are big and rich. I ordered the pupusas rancheras and although pricey the dish was delicious and big. Their service is great and they make your food quickly. I would choose this place over the one in Santa Rosa any time because the one in Santa rosa takes FOREVER to make your pupusas and their service is lacking. Word

I purchased two Salvadorean pupusas today . Not only did they not look like pupusas but they tasted nothing like pupusas . I paid $5.00 for each . Someone needs to learn the secret of making good pupusas .

I would love to post a photo of what they look like bs what they should look
like and ofcourse there’s the taste.
