Well this is disappointing. Bodhi was the best veggie Chinese food in LA period, I've tried all of them and none compare. So I'm really sad you closed. If you open anywhere or delivery/takeout only, please let me know.

Visited yesterday but actually it's closed PERMANENTLY as all its signages were removed and windows being taped. On its entrance there is a note indicating a new business will open on Nov 1st with a phone number. I called the number since we'd frequented them for many years. Lady on the other side of the call told me in about a month or so, Xiang Ji restaurant, originally from its Monterey Park location would move to replace this restaurant. One less vegetarian restaurant for variety. Positive aspect of this is the new restaurant will offer vegetarian items on their menu so we can get ready to try :)

I don't have any pictures but this is my go to when I have to eat vegetarian for the day. I usually get their fried oyster mushroom, vege sweet & sour chicken w/ pineapple, and vermicelli & spicy sauce. Can't really go wrong here. Just make sure you call before picking up since sometimes they take awhile

I've had a few vegetarian places in the San Gabriel Valley, with Vege Paradise being my most frequented establishment. I wanted to try something new, and saw this place had been around for a while. So I decided to go here for lunch. My family and I came here for Mid Autumn Festival, so they did not have lunch specials. Unfortunate, as their lunch specials are served with complimentary soup and tea. We ended up sharing some crispy oyster mushrooms, fried tofu with hot sauce, and stir fried vegetables. We also ordered a white rice and a brown rice to share. The portions for the entrees were fairly generalized. I loved the oyster mushrooms, which were crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside. The tofu was quite silky too. The prices were definitely high because the lunch specials were not available. I want to come back in the future during a non holiday and try their lunch specials.

if you want vegetarian food that actually taste good, this would be a good choice. none of that tofu bacon stuff but actual well make good. highly recommend the fry oyster mushrooms and the "braised pork". the "kidney" dish and the other mushroom dishes are all wonderful. I'm more of a meat person but the occasional vegi meal is good to have for a little change of pace.

First time I went I was a little disappointed, I could not dine in since I am one person. I followed the rule and ordered to go. The food is good, no msg. The containers keep food warm. I also like the purple rice.

Don't know if the food is good or bad..but the staff is nasty. Drove an hour to take my Mom to lunch we entered the restaurant and no one approached us. They had two tables with dinners. When we were approached the employee said "yes" so I said there are two of us to which she replied if it's only two you have to order to go... I will never return to this place.

Bodhi Veggie is fantastic! They produce the best veggie dishes compared to other veggie restaurants IMHO. They make their meat dishes with mushrooms of some sort and some of them tastes like the real meat. My go-to veggie dishes are as follows. The top 3 are my favorites. Knocked off 1 star for the excessive oiliness of a few dishes. 1. Crispy Oyster Mushrooms - the salt and pepper flavor-like is devine... just scrumptious! 2. Crispy Vege Chicken Nuggets with Basil - delish, tastes like chicken made out of mushrooms! 3. Bean Curd Skin & Spinach - a bit oily, but very tasty! 4. Soft Tofu & Eggplant with Basil in Hot Pot - also a bit oily, but very flavorful! 5. Orange Chicken - not exactly the same as Panda Express orange chicken, but it works! 6. Vege Kung Pao Chicken - very good... tastes very close to real chicken! 7. Buddha's Feast - a very light refreshing vegetable dish Staff is friendly and service is quick. Prices have gone up a little bit by $1 or $2 depending on the dish... this is very common nowadays since the re-opening of restaurants. I normally do take-out, but I have dined-in once since they re-opened for dine-in... still not a lot of people dining-in at this time. Parking is plenty. By the way, they do require a minimum of 6 people for dine-in due to the limited number of servers at this time. I guess they can't accommodate to serve too many tables at one time. Hopefully, the restriction will be removed as they get more servers. Give Bodhi Veggie a try when you're in the San Gabriel Valley area. Happy Vegg'ing!

Used to be our go to place. Food is good. Went in today with a party of four and they wouldn't seat us. Apparently you needed at minimum a party of 6. The only option was takeout so we walked out. Honestly really disappointed. There was so many empty tables and they only used half of the room.

Extremely weird. Servers here said only 6 or above people could sit inside and dine in. With the rules of California reopening, I don't know why there is such a stupid rule of the restaurant. I don't know if the restaurant does have this rule or just the server don't want to serve. We got party of 4 and said will add on more dishes, they don't allow me to get in. Feeling extremely unbelievable.

I've only ever gotten takeout from Bodhi, so I can't vouch for their dine-in experience. Call ahead to order as their food ranges from 15 to 30 minutes till completion, depending on what time of day it is. Please be patient, as it's very evident that the few remaining employees here are mostly family helping out the place during COVID. That being said, their vegetarian food is some of the best I've had. In fact, it's so good, it's better than many of the vegetarian foods sold directly at temples. I really enjoy their orange "chicken," Buddha's plate, and their bean curd skin with spinach. I've had their crispy oyster mushrooms, and while they were good, the seasoning was off, so some mushrooms were incredibly salty, while others were bland. I think it may have been an issue with them not being mixed thoroughly enough. They have lunch specials that come with rice while the dinner price is just a larger portion of the entree. For takeout, their package is always packed with care. I'm usually given a cardboard box for my order, just in case the food leaks sauces.

Food is either too salty or too bland. The green rice had cumin in it which was good but too salty. Service was very slow. They no longer have lunch specials. We will not be back.

This restaurant can get pretty busy, even if you call ahead of time to order for to-go. The prices may seem pricey for some dishes during dinner (like the vege and abalone), but they give a lot of food. We ordered 4 dishes for 6 people and only finished half of each one, and we're all stuffed. Vege abalone with vegetables : Very flavorful and not too salty or oily. The abalone tasted almost like the real thing. There was spinach under the mushroom abalone and the mushrooms itself. The dish was pricey, but they gave us a large amount of it, 5/5. Sweet and sour chicken: I love the pineapples and the "chicken." The pineapples gave a sweet kick to the sauce and the "chicken" was cooked very soft and complimented the dish well, 5/5. Bean curd and baby bamboo: Light in flavor, but delicious! The baby bamboo and bean curd were cut very thin and were cooked perfectly, 5/5. Salt and pepper chicken: The "chicken" was a bit tough, but the flavor was good! We ordered the squid (mushroom) version of this dish before, and everyone agreed that the mushroom version was better because it was crispy. I would rate the chicken version a 3.5/5.

Ridiculous! I was making a reservation for 4 people on Father's Day.The waitress told me they are only open for parties more than six due to the Covid 19. This is non sense! If it's for social distancing policy how come they are welcome for more than 6 people but not 4 people?? Then she said they are lack of labor to take care of small table. Totally BS!

We ordered Truffle and vegetable rice and Braise eggplant with spicy sauce. Food was amazing, excellent balance of taste and quality. Portion size is good too. We will definitely try other dishes.
