If you are looking for authentic Indonesian food, this place never disappoints. I have tried different types of dishes here, and all are delicious. The dishes are prepackaged either in clamshells or wrapped in banana leaves. You pick up what you want, pay, and then find a seat to eat. There's water (from a jug) available for free. Utensils are provided. The place also sells some traditional Indonession desserts that are to die for (especially because it is a hassle to make)! .the place sells Indonesian groceries that you can't find in other stores. The atmosphere is just right for a traditional Indonesian eating place (nothing bougie), clean and quick service.

We only buy Indonesia snacks and did not try any of the food here. It’s busy on weekend and they have plenty of options for Indonesia food lover. Plenty of snacks but they are expensive.

Feels like a slice of Medan was just cut out of Indonesian and plopped right in the middle of LA.

Came here after watching in YouTube/Eater and was curious how authentic the place is as Indonesian cuisine is really close to my heart and stomach LOL and fortunately Medan Kitchen did not disappoint. It’s a gastronomic venture and lots of ready packed meals to choose from. Just be cautious for people observing Halal, as there’s siomai with pork in it, but, there’s vegetarian and pescatarian options paired with famous sambal as well. Sweets and pastries are also not to be missed to the likes of Nastar and molen. Indonesian pantry staples are available here as well including my go to minyak. We were there at lunch and there’s lot of curious goers and first timers like me. Limited parking space. 65 miles journey was well worth it

Medan Kitchen in Rosemead is a hidden gem for those seeking authentic Indonesian cuisine. They offer a wide selection of traditional Indonesian dishes and ingredients, bringing a taste of Indonesia to California. The food is expertly prepared by Ms. Siuchen, whose cooking evokes fond memories of fresh, spicy Indonesian flavors.
During my visit, I tried the beef dendeng, balado telur, bala-bala, and singkong goreng. Each dish was bursting with authentic spices and flavors, taking me right back to the streets of Indonesia. I highly recommend Medan Kitchen to anyone craving a genuine Indonesian dining experience.

If you want to find complete Indonesian food, this is where it tastes...wow... really Indonesian, but remember, if you buy nasi Padang, it's better to eat it quickly because I brought it home from the 4 hour trip and it immediately soured because of the coconut milk... so if it's Nasi Padang, it's better to eat it straight away, boss. !!

If you're looking for fresh, authentic Indonesian food, Merry's House of Chicken in West Covina is where you need to go! Their nasi bungkus, nasi kuning, and kremesan are absolutely unbeatable—full of rich, authentic flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. It’s hands down the best Indonesian food we’ve had, and you can really taste the difference.
We recently tried Medan's Kitchen, and honestly, we’re not sure why it’s so busy. The food was just okay and didn’t really hit the mark for us. It seems like their customers haven’t found Merry's House of Chicken yet! If you’re after something truly special and fresh, skip Medan’s and head straight to Merry’s House of Kitchen in West Covina—you won’t be disappointed!
