I could spend ages in this place deciding what to get! There's so much to choose from, but my favorite item is the fresh homemade tempeh that I use for my own cooking. Beef rendang is quite spicy and sweet - not my preference. Lapis cake is also available here for those who love buttery cakes.

They have a great variety of authentic Indonesian food. On top of that, the staff were courteous and welcoming; as an Indonesian, one would instantly feel at home in this family operated restaurant. However, the quality and taste of the dishes are mediocre at best. Most of the dishes are prepared beforehand and served cold.

If it's packed it's gotta be good right? For me, only the first time. The second visit I felt like everything had a very similar flavor profile and spicy ness level. Most full dishes were about $14 average. Very filling and tasty no matter what you choose but be sure to warm it up before you eat it. They have a microwave there and water cups next to it. See my pics for what I ordered. I cannot remember the names so forgive me. All in all, tasty but after my second visit, I will be taking a break.

This Place always Busy. I love allll the snacks they have. Lupis was sooo good!! Shiumay, bakso goreng, kentang crispy also good. But unfortunately the food was so so for me. Not so special. Rendang still chewy to eat, the vegetables cabbage still a lil bit raw, the chicken on my nasi padang a lil bit overcooked, Their tempe lack of taste, the nasi uduk so dry. But i like the nasi kuning, taste good!! I tried to be as honest as I can. I hope they can improve their food taste.

Very authentic indonesian good. Hard to top even in Indonesia. The complete nasi kuning and nasi uduk was supremely awesome. Wish I had the chance to try their other foods

Martabak manis is the worse we ever had. It had a bad after taste, must be the butter they used, not fresh, tasted very mushy & doughy. Nasi kuning is really good. Lontong sayur is yummy, a bit too spicy. Wish we can exchange the martabak for kue lapis or get a discount for next visit on the dessert. The price is a bit pricey, but can't blame them with the rise of inflation.

We love this place. The food is fresh made daily. The price is good too. The owner is very friendly. The best part is this place cook authentic North Sumatra food, which hard to find in SoCal. I am a foodie and I know a good food when I see and taste one. I highly recommend this place if you want to taste real Medan, Sumatra food. You won't be disappointed.
