I've heard great things about this restaurant but was skeptical about the 4.5 stars it earned. But after trying it today, I can vouch that it deserves that rating. The house special beef noodle soup was very tasty with 3 huge pieces of very tender beef. The crab and pork xlb were big and juicy. I think it can definitely compete with Din Tai Fung's version. The seaweed salad was a little disappointing, being a little tough. I prefer the softer and silkier seaweed dish. This may just be my preference, so don't let it deter you from ordering if you like chewing more. The restaurant itself seemed nice and clean. And the service was good, with the servers actually looking around to see if customers are flagging for them. I'm a fan!

I could tell this place would be really good before walking in. There was a wait and people were walking out raving about how good it was. I recommend getting on the waitlist on Yelp before going. About the food: the XLB was so freaking good!!! better than ding tai fung. it had soup in it and it was hot!! pan fried pork dumplings were also crispy and good. the beef noodle soup was alright bc the noodles were a little too soft.

I've had this place bookmarked for quite sometime. Wife and I decided to eat here on Saturday around 5:45pm. We decided to eat a little earlier because I know this place can get crowded. The restaurant was maybe 2/3 full when we started and by the time we finished around 6:45 it had 5 parties waiting outside. Let me just say this.....The service was excellent. We were asked how we were doing multiple times, water glasses were refilled without asking and the food came out promptly. We ordered 4 dishes and this is how we rated them. Pan Fried Pork Bao - 9/10 - Very tasty and juicy Popcorn Chicken (mild spicy) - 8/10 - Excellent flavor with a decent amount of spice Braised Beef Rice Noodle Soup (Fun noodles) - 7/10 - Pretty flavorful broth, excellent beef, should have got egg noodles Black Pepper Beef Fried Udon - 6/10 - Good flavor but not very much pepper or beef Overall a good experience. Enjoyed the food and will probably come back.

I didn't have high expectations coming, but Mr Dragon has become one of my favorite restaurants in MPK. I was so excited looking at the menu, we ordered 6 dishes for 2 people. The dishes barely fit on our table. Beef Noodle Soup - Wow. I've been on the search for the best beef noodle in SoCal and I had a top list going, but every place was still missing a little something-something. I was impressed with this beef noodle soup. The beef was oh so tender and the flavor was great. The broth was delicious and on the "refreshing" side, meaning not too heavy. The noodles had a great texture and wasn't too overcooked or undercooked. The bok choy veggies were crisp but not undercooked. The portions were generous. Perhaps I am still in pre-inflation mindset, but the price point seems a little high. It won't stop be from coming back for this. Just don't increase it more, please, Mr Dragon Owner. 10/10 in my book! - Xiao Long Bao: I'm a xiao long bao lover and will order this dish anywhere I can. It's a dish that I'm pretty nit-picky about. I will order this dish again at Mr Dragon. The flavor was delicious. The amount of broth in there was generous. The pork stuffing was juicy and flavorful. The skin is more on the thicker side. I usually prefer thinner skin but I still appreciated their baos for what they were. 8.5/10 - Beef Wrap: Boy, oh boy. Why haven't I found you earlier, Mr Dragon. I would consider myself a beef wrap enthusiast. I love beef wraps and have tried too many restaurants. In Taiwan too. Sooo good. I loved it. It was flavorful, generous in quantity, crisp bing wrap, not too sweet or too salty. It was delicious. In fact, Mr Dragon just went to #1 on my favorite beef wrap list in LA so far. 10/10 - Dan Dan Noodles: I love dan dan noodles but usually don't order this dish because of how filling it is. I like trying everything on the menu so this dish would not allow me to. However, I had to give it a go. It was good. In all honesty, I don't order this dish enough to make a fair judgment. Rating: N/A (it was good). - Popcorn Chicken: I love popcorn chicken! I was actually craving popcorn chicken all day and had to order it when I saw it on the menu. I thought it was going to be like any other popcorn chicken but was surprised to find they were subpar. So juicy on the side. Flavor was great. Also, since we ordered 6 dishes for only two people, I had to take this home. I was a little bummed I couldn't finish it because fried foods don't have the best reputation to being good the next day but to my surprise, it was just as good the next day. I was little too lazy to fry it again and just popping then in the microwave did the trick. So good! 10/10 - Pan Fried Pork Buns (Shengjian Bao): It was decent, but probably my least liked item ordered. The pork inside was juicy and flavorful, but the dough was too thick for my liking. I felt like I was eating more of a pan fried mantou instead of a shengjian bao. The flavor was good, but the thickness of the dough kinda killed it for me. 6/10 I loved the dishes here so much, I ordered a beef noodle soup, beef wrap and popcorn chicken to go for my parents. They had only positive things to say and wanted the address. My tummy was all kinds of happy leaving this place.

My favorite place for pan fried baos! They are so juicy and the flavor is perfect. I really like the crispy bottom. XLB- these are good too! Meat is very soft and soup is good. Pan fried noodles - also very good! Not too oily compared to other restaurants and portion is pretty big. There is parking in the plaza but we came on a weekday and it was pretty full already.

This is place is wow! Quick and delicious! Everything we ordered I would order again. There was a bit of a wait around 8pm on a Thursday night, we were seated in about 15 minutes. I need to go back and order more items on the menu!

I came here on a Saturday and the line wasn't too bad. Of course I had to try their House Special Beef Noodle Soup. HOUSE SPECIAL BEEF NOODLE SOUP - 4 / 5 ---------------------------- The noodles were soft and tender, just the way I like it. Beef was tender as well, and didn't have too much fat. I am not a huge fan of fatty beef so that was a pro for me. Broth was a bit on the saltier side, but still pretty solid. Would try again next time. PORK POTSTICKERS - 4 ---------------------------- Had the nice crispy side to it that looks and tastes amazing. Stuffing inside I found to be solid, but I've had better at other places. Potstickers were juicy and overall enjoyed it.

We were looking for hand cut noodle soup while in this area. Decided to give it a try. We ended up ordering everything that was popular there and enjoyed everything. I'm just sad that they aren't closer to me so I can go more often. Highly recommend the fried buns and beef roll.

Get ready to wait. I got here with a friend on Saturday at 11:30am and there was already a hefty waitlist. The restaurant opens at 11am. We ordered the House Special Beef Noodles Soup (beef and tendons), Dan Dan Noodles, and the Hot oil shrimp and pork wontons. The beef noodles was good, the broth was a bit bland for me and my friend so we added soy sauce. The meat and tendons were very tender. The dan dan noodles was a bit saltier so that was perfect for us. I wasn't a fan of their hot oil wontons. It was okay but not good enough for me to come back for more. Good thing we didn't have to wait too long for our food to come out.

My experience prior to COVID and post-COVID have been superb each time. The beef noodle soup is so good here! Service is not affectionate, but they try to be efficient. It gets packed! Interestingly, they serve popcorn chicken, and it's pretty good. I feel like you can't go wrong with the beef rolls or the steamed buns if you need an appetizer to share in a bigger group. I definitely recommend getting the house special beef noodle soup. The dan dan noodles are really good too! They accepted Apple Pay. Parking is available next to McDonalds as well.

Great: 1. The beef roll is the best I've had. The outside is fried to toasty perfection and every bite is delicious with the right amount of beef, wrap, and veggies - not too dry and not too oily. 2. The pan fried potstickers look amazing and I don't understand how it all stays together without the thin crispy bottom falling apart. Not so great: 1. The meat filling inside the potstickers and the XLB are a little strange to me. It's a bit mushy and I can't tell what ingredient is in there but I'm not a fan of it. 2. Hard to find parking in this small plaza, and hard to turn in if you are making a left.

We were pleasantly surprised by the food. The menu is very similar to PP Pop, but the setting is newer and nicer. We liked everything we ordered. The stem to leaves ratio of the Garlic Chinese Vegetable is respectable, & the portion is fair. The Pork Fried Rice Cake was good although Hubby found it a bit bland. The Hot Oil Wonton with Pork, Chinese Cabbage & Shrimp was delicious & spicy. For those who can't take the heat, you might want to stay clear or have your water ready. I am not a fan of XLB, but Hubby had no complaint, & I even had two (though not totally voluntarily). This place is popular. It was full before 12p on a Sunday. Service is comparable to other Chinese restaurants, perhaps slightly better. We will definitely return as I want to try their Dan Dan Noodle.

I was on my way back from a quick trip to Palm Springs and was craving Taiwanese food. Since I never dined here before, I decided to order a variety of dishes: Braised Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup 5/5 - SO GOOD. Broth was flavorful but not too oily or too much msg. The meat pieces superbly tender. I especially enjoyed the tendon pieces and will order all tendon for next time. Pork Potstickers 4/5 - I think the filling was only pork. Or if there was any veggies in it, it was blended up to be unnoticeable... while the flavor was good, I wanted to taste and feel more textures like onion or some other veggie. But it was really juicy and well cooked. Cold Seaweed 5/5 - Exactly what I wanted! Refreshing, acidic from the vinegar, garlicky, and a huge portion! Beef Roll 3/5 - This was the most underwhelming. It only had beef and cilantro in it. Why no cucumber? I was really missing the cucumber and the beef was dry. The interior was really clean and presentable and service was quick and efficient.

I am not sure whether Mr Dragon Noodle House is actually a sister restaurant of P P Pop in Monterey Park, but the menu and the Chinese restaurant name are mirror image of each other. I called for a take-out order and my order was ready when I arrived 30 minutes later. I simply walked directly to back-end of the restaurant and paid at the cashier counter. To my surprise, Mr Dragon actually accepted credit cards. [Parking]: Parking shouldn't be an issue as the plaza isn't super popular. [Atmosphere]: No outdoor dining patio and indoor dining only. The restaurant was pretty packed on Monday at 7 PM, but there were still few tables available for walk-in customers. [Menu]: This restaurant specializes in Northern Chinese cuisine - that includes dim sum (juicy pork dumplings or xiao long bao, pan fried pork bao, potstickers, wonton, etc) and noodle soup (beef noodle soup). Other dishes include Japanese udon, Japanese ramen, fried rice, vermicelli, etc. *** D15 Dan Dan Noodle ($10.99): Peanut sauce got good spiciness, but meat tasted slightly too salty for my taste. C3 Pan Fried Pork Bao (6 pieces - $10.50): Thick dough, but flavor was on the point. *** A solid 3.5-star on food, but bump up to 4-star with the benefit of the doubt due to fairly efficient take-out service.

My family and I have been coming here for over 2 decades. This was a restaurant my grandpa loved before he passed away when I was only 15 years old. We frequent this restaurant still because it brings back memories of how our whole family would get together. This is my happy place. My grandpa's favorite dishes was their steamed pork buns and the potstickers. Over the years, the ownership hasn't changed, and the food is as delicious, flavorful and scrumptious as always. Nothing has changed about this place. The place is a family gathering type of restaurant. You always hear Mandarin and Cantonese people talking as loud as possible about how their week was or whatever comes into their mind. It's a truly amazing place to be. It's how I was every weekend when my grandpa was alive. We would be together as family and talk about how we are doing. My favorite dishes here breaking down from the past till this present day... -Fried Pork Potstickers These are such a delight to eat every time we come here. Very crunchy and flavorful on the outside. Very juicy and pouring with porky soup on the inside. My grandpa's favorite. This was his main to go dish, and this is also my favorite to go to dish till this day. You do have to let this plate cool down for a good 5 minutes before you take your first bite. I remember when I decided to just eat it right away, you can get a mouth burn, but oh man... the porky soup inside this potsticker is super juicy and enticing. They cook the pork meat just right and on top with the juicy soup... it's so mouth watering that you want to eat more. We usually had to order 2 plates because everyone wants a grab at this dish. - Steamed Pork Buns This is also our family favorite. The juicy, soupy, tasty, delicious steam pork buns. Oh.... Just one bite, you are in juicy, porky heaven. These little firecrackers have to have the right amount of soup in each one in order to win our family heart. They hit the spot every time. We order one plate and within 15 minutes it's done and gone, sometimes even 10 minutes. We all always want to order more, and we usually do but depends on what else we ordered at that time. Warning, you do have to wait a good few minutes for this dish to also cool down or you will get a mouth burn, just like the potstickers. - Beef Roll Wraps One of our healthy chooses because these beef roll wrap also has Chinese vegetables in it, and it always gives it a little healthy hit to our family gathering. The outside is a little crunchy, and when you bite down... loads of veggies and beef with a blast of flavor into your mouth. This dish, we try to order every time. Sometimes, we do not because we want to order something else, but this is still a very yummy dish to try. For sure, give this dish a try if you want something on the healthier side but with a good amount of deliciousness. Honestly, sometime I don't even taste the veggies because it's so full of flavorful. -Shanghai Fried Pork Rice Cake- This is also a very delicious plate. It has mushrooms, veggies, carrots and of course shredded pork in it. Another delicious and healthy or semi healthy dish to pick and choose on their menu. We 4/5 times get this because it's so tasty. The rice cakes are cooked just right, so it's chewy enough but not raw. You don't wanna eat raw rice cakes that it for sure. That is gross. This place cooks this dish just perfect. -Beef Stew Noodle A popular semi simple Asian dish, but this place makes the soup/broth very tasty and semi different. Whatever they put together with the broth, the soup has a very nice blast of flavor into it. The noodles are also very chewy and slurping material. A good amount of tender juicy pieces of beef. They don't skim you on the beef pieces which is effing awesome. It also have baby bok choy in it which is a hint of healthiness into this scrumptious bowl of beef noodle soup. Definitely a must try even if you are just going for a quick lunch in your own. This place is inside a very busy plaza. They have other restaurants
