This is one of the most authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Rosemead. The food here is exceptional and taste. Great! The service is also equally great. Our server was very receptive and friendly. The ambience is fantastic and casual. We ordered the caramelized catfish casserole, which was phenomenal. It was served in a clay pot and came out very hot and delicious. To accompany this dish, we also ordered the sweet and soup catfish soup; Canh Ca Chua. This is one of the best catfish soups that I've ever tasted in any Vietnamese restaurant. The catfish soup is served on a burner and is boiling hot at the table. What I like about the soup is that it is not overly sweet or sour. It is just done exactly to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for authentic and real Vietnamese food. You can't go wrong with this place!

We stopped by for goat stew with egg noodles (mì dê) which tasted on point, the goat oh so tender. It was topped with fried tofu skin; chunks of bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms was a delightful surprise as they were hiding under the noodles. I don't know of another restaurant that serves this dish, even in Little Saigon in OC. My wife ordered the beef stew (bò kho) served with bread which was the daily special. A better Vietnamese beef stew I have never had. I try not to eat red meat anymore for health reasons so when I do it better be worth it. Tai Siu is a pretty unique Vietnamese restaurant. In addition to the usual rice dishes, noodle soups, stir fry, canh chua (sweet and sour soup), bún dishes (rice vermicelli with various proteins) and they do a good job with all the classics, you can also order mon nhau which is roughly translated as drinking food or Vietnamese tapas. Try the fried small fish (known as boquerones in Spain), frog legs (deep fried or stir fried in a lemongrass curry sauce), fried squid, fried quails, shaken venison, steamed clams in lemongrass. Needless to say, it all goes down real nice with adult beverages. All those reviews that complain about the bony chicken in Hainanese Chicken, consider this: they probably use free range chicken which tastes better but do not necessarily look like the usual steroid and antibiotic laden stuff you find at the supermarket. Just sayin'...

Ordered Tai Siu Restaurant to go for lunch and was quite disappointed with the food. The Hainan Chicken Rice looked very good when opening the box, but I soon came to realize that there was not much meat in the chicken pieces compared to bones. Shaken Rice with Filet Mignon Beef chunks wasn't very tender and the rice was extremely oily and lacked the ketchup flavor. Was not impressed with the food and will probably not be coming back.

First time at their new location (which is further out for us since MPK is my home base). Back parking lot has a few spots. The dining area has a row of booths and a row of round tables for 8 seating. They also have a small private room in the front. We got our favorites: their Hainan chicken rice and their Luc Lac red rice dish. Both come with a pork bone soup. The Hainan chicken had lots of bones and skin so be ready to work around that. I was disappointed with the rice which is cooked with chicken broth. It just was very dry and sticky so easy to get stuck in your teeth. The Luc Lac beef cubes were cooked perfectly as I remembered. Again, I had issue with the red rice which was also dry and in clusters that were hard to eat ( I picked through and ate the softer rice portions). The price has gone up as expected but I was slightly disappointed with the food quality which I felt have gone down a bit. I do hope they improve and stay in business as I believe in supporting small businesses

I came here for Hu Tieu instead of my usual spot Kim Kee. The interior itself was spacious and I didn't have trouble getting a seat. Service was pretty quick too and I didn't have any difficulty ordering. The food itself was pretty standard. The flavors for the dry Hu Tieu are kinda different than what I'm used to. They have a slightly sweeter sauce with their noodles. I can see how some people can like this, but I wasn't super into it. We also ordered the Che Bau Mau to try it out. This is probably the strangest version of this dessert I've tried and did not like it at all. The che had a distractingly sour taste to it. I can get behind sour notes in desserts, but this one was so prominent and to the forefront. It was to the point that my mouth kept telling me it was spoiled with every bite, even though I was assured it wasn't. One final thing that was off-putting to me was when the bill came. The waitress stood over my shoulder and stared at me fill it out and then assured me "good job" when I tipped a reasonable amount. I felt her pressure over me the entire time and felt really uncomfortable as I was filling out the receipt. Overall I think I can see why people like the place, but I have no intention of coming back here.

My parents use to frequent their old location on San Gabriel before they moved to the Valley location. My parents like their goat stew as it's quite a unique dish. We decided to try their new location (not so new anymore), and the first thing that stood out was the price. It was definitely higher than other restaurants around the area that serves better tasting food. We got the egg rolls. I like the skin and it was fried to the perfect chewy crunch. I'm used to the filling with a bit more variety and a bit more flavor. It came with a side of lettuce, cucumber and pickled carrots. The nuoc mam dipping sauce was more diluted. Not too pungent. The beef stir fried noodles is the softer egg noodles. It wasn't too impressive as it reminded me of the soy sauce fried noodles for breakfast at the HK cafes. Didn't have too much of the "wok hei" flavor, more like a pan fried stir everything in. The beef was tender and the portion was more conservative for the price. The braised catfish was on the sweeter side. Don't forget to pour the caramelized sauce on top of the rice. Generous portion of rice on a plate and some pickled veggies. Overall the value was what put me off from returning. The food reminds me of a home cooked meal, if that's what you're looking for. Parking in the back and underground. Place was clean and service was decent. The owner was patient to wait for us to order and look over the menu.

This place is pretty amazing if you're craving for some authentic Chinese food. I grew up coming here. Well they use to have a restaurant on San Gabriel Blvd and Garvey Ave, but I supposed they have moved to Valley Blvd. Parking: They have parking onsite. Ambience: typical Asian restaurant decors. The inside at this location is a lot bigger than their old place. This location can accommodate large parties. Service: the owner Lan is friendly and a waitress named Le (who's always there whenever I eat there, literally for the past 10 years now) is always very accommodating. Even though it's a Chinese restaurant, they do speak Vietnamese. Food: My favorite dishes are the frog legs and the Hainan chicken. these frog legs are deep fried with garlic and pair with this awesome salad with a light sweet and lemony dressing. The Hainan chicken is tender and the rice is savory and buttery. Another dish that I know people love to come here for is their goat hot pot, but it's not really for me. Overall: This is a local restaurant that have been around SGV for a long time. I highly recommend coming here.

Best Vietnamese curry in the 626. Recently came across their new location on Valley which is a lot more spacious. Used to go to the old location often. Even after moving, their dishes are still very consistent. Btw, love their tea as well

Foods wasn't good at all. We ordered hu tieu nam vang . The broth is super salty and blank. Taste like too much MSG in the broth. We drank a lot water right after we ate there. The fired squid are the worst. Too much old oil and the squid too dry. I usually don't write review but i have to let other know. Definitely not coming back.

I had a to go order of the lamb stew came with rice. The soup tasted so salty and there were only about 4 pieces of lamb. The biggest problem was there was a piece of white sharp object in the rice. It looked like a piece of sharp bone or plastic. Luckily, I caught it in my mouth and not swallowed it. I wished I had taken a picture of it. I wasn't thinking of writing a review so I didn't take a picture of it. Please be careful business owner. You can get sued if someone gets injured from that. That's one of the reasons why people prefer to cook at home because it's more clean, tastes better, and more food for the price.

Good and quick services, super friendly staff, reasonable price. I come there every Tuesday. They always remember your name and the food that you love.

Sometimes when you're expectations are low, you get a surprise. The food here is surprisingly good, service of course was good until it got busy, inside is roomy. It's a very homey experience with the staff, like grandma and aunties taking care of you. Going to bring my dad back since the flavors here are nostalgic and you know old school people and their flavors.
