Great sushi to pick up for a quick lunch and the staff are very friendly.

$5 card minimum and does not accept EBT despite this being clearly posted on their business page as an accepted payment method. There is no option to edit this publicly, implying they selected it themselves. What is the point of misleading consumers? To pressure them into buying items anyways due to 面目? Probably won’t return as I found their prepared food comparable to, if somewhat smaller than Mitsuwa & Marukai (closer to me).

Tozai is a lovely neighborhood Japanese supermarket. The store may be small, but they carry everything from your essentials for cooking (soy sauce, mirin, soba dipping sauce etc), soba/Udon (both packaged and frozen - tip, get frozen udon not packaged for the best taste, it will taste like what you get at restaurants), to ready-to-eat meals (onigiri, Japanese chicken (karaage), rolls, sushi and sashimi). Small selection of veggies and fruits. I always go to Tozai for routine Japanese grocery items and find that it suits my need 99% of the time. Sure, once or twice a year I go to Tokyo Central or Mitsuwa in Downtown to go crazy at the snack selection, but besides those rare times, Tozai is my place.

Great place for Japanese groceries but the takeout food is outstanding! Sushi is better than a lot of restaurants and staff is nice.

I've been coming here for years. Always a good variety of cooked and raw fish meals. Recently, the raw fish quality has been a hit or miss. I'm disappointed because it's not cheap and sometimes I have to throw it out. I guess I'll keep giving them a chancem

I come here to grab some quick eats. They have fresh food that they put out. From bento boxes, sushi rolls, and poke! This place is also a market if you're trying to find stuff to make poke at home.

This place is very small and worthy of the name deli. Although the selection is very limited, the cooked food section is reasonably good and the cooked food is relatively fresh. However, the price is a bit expensive and the selection is too small. If you don’t buy a large amount, there is no problem. If you only buy one or two things, it is a A good choice otherwise it would be better to go to Tokyo Central or Mitsuwa because they have more choices and are fresher and generally more expensive than other places. The only advantage is that you won’t see long queues.

Came here to get some fresh sushi and I was a little disappointed. The rice was a little hard and undercooked and the fish did not have the taste. I was looking for and sushi grade sushi.
