Back 40 Texas BBQ Restaurant & Catering

I wanted BBQ so bad, for weeks I wanted a decent spot to satisfy that good BBQ craving. I tried several places throughout the weeks leading up to this place. Here, I found on accident, since my friend I was going to visit in just a few streets away off this exit.
I went and picked her up and tested out this BBQ. OMG it is pretty darn good. I like the pork ribs flavor but its a bit fatty. I prefer dry ribs normally but these were great. We went down the list of the sides to try and every single one hit. Was it my cravings being satiated or pure deliciousness? I guess I won't know until I visit again.
The staff was great and was in no hurry to get us to order and leave. Let us ask questions and gave honest answers (as far as we could tell) and also... during our near the closing hour had an impromptu disney sing along with an amazing server.

Will definitely be back when I drive that direction... I can't wait.

They used to be good, now under new ownership, they are horrible. They run out of favorites farntok frequently now. How in the heck domtou run ou ribs on an early friday evening?? Happened several times, so we quit coming.

My family and I went to the Back 40 for the first time today and it was a great experience! The service was prompt and friendly. The food was outstanding! I don’t like brisket. I have tried it several times in my life. My husband ordered it and gave me a bit to try. Y’all, I would order it. It was that good! My BBQ chicken salad was delicious as well. Oh, and the banana bread was warm and tasty! Our little one chowed down on her sliders and mac n cheese. We will be back for sure!

Jared did an amazing job making my fiancé and I feel welcome! He recommended the fully loaded pulled pork skins and they didnt disappoint. We'll be back for sure!

The food was absolutely outstanding — perfectly smoked meats that were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The brisket melted in our mouths, the ribs had just the right amount of smokiness and fall-off-the-bone goodness, and the sides were the perfect complement to the meal. You can taste the pride and passion in every bite.

What made our visit truly unforgettable was our amazing server, Kevin. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our experience great, Kevin’s service turned a fantastic meal into a memorable one. He offered excellent recommendations, kept our table well taken care of, and made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. Oh, and the drinks were amazing!!

Back 40 Texas BBQ doesn’t just serve great food — it serves a full experience, and with staff like Kevin, it’s easy to see why this spot stands out. We’ll absolutely be back, and we highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic BBQ paired with outstanding service!
