Not sure why we made a reservation when we had to wait almost 30 min for a table. Felt like I was at a Dr appointment. Then when the hostess asked us if we preferred indoor or out I said it didn't matter we just wanted to be seated. She popped an attitude and glared at me twice while we ate. I also was disappointed that I was served a coffee martini in a wine glass. I know it seems trivial but after the previous situation I was peeved. Our waiter was wonderful thank you Isaiah for turning our night around! Good luck to you finding a new job which should be very easy! You are great!
Hadn't been in many years. Everything we ordered was delicious! I had the mushroom gnocchi. Salty, garlicky, yum! The rest of the table had the halibut, the short ribs and a steak (don't remember the name, Chateau maybe?). Everyone was very happy with their choices. Our server was very nice and did a great job! Other staff would come by to check on us. Sat outside, which is always lovely.
My pasta was swimming in milk/heavy cream and not a creamy sauce as expected. My husband's fries were so oily and soggy that they could barely be picked up with a fork. We heard the place was closing so we came to use up our gift card. It was nice having a restaurant close to the neighborhood, but disappointed with the food this time.
We have been going to La Provence for years and we have never been disappointed. This time we had Beef Wellington which was amazing. We are so sad La Provence will be closing. We have had so many great memories here, birthdays, anniversaries, Easter brunch, Mother's Day, Father's Day and when we just wanted an awesome meal. Thanks for everything La Provence. You will be missed. ?
We hadn't been to La Provence in over a decade and remembered it to be very good in terms of service and food. We booked a reservation and was told that the restaurant was falling behind and were not seated for an additional 15 minutes. Our waiter, who actually was great, began with a disclaimer that the kitchen was not doing well and that the night before there were many complaints and people getting up and leaving after waiting long periods for their food. Our appetizer came fairly quickly, but the quality of the food was fairly poor. After a longer wait for our main meal we actually had to haggle to get more bread to the table. The main meals looked very sloppy for $40+ plates of food, and my wife's short ribs were so fatty we had to send them back. (luckily our waiter came through with a newer piece of meat). My medium-sized scallops were mediocre and the risotto overcooked. We certainly passed on dessert, and to add insult to injury they neglected the special instructions that it was our anniversary dinner! The best part of the restaurant was the bussing of the table and the constant refilling of our water glasses throughout. Sadly, the restaurant has declined and we will not return.
They don't allow service dogs. After telling her that was illegal , We were told we could sit outside. It was 105 degrees outside. We told her that it wasn't an emotional support animal. It was an actual service dog. A working dog. Not a pet. She called the owner and they said we would have to sit in a corner somewhere and the dog need to sit on the floor. My friend has seizures and the dog needs to be touching his body somewhat to smell him so she can alert him if it's time for a seizure. He usually carries her in a satchel. We were told she could not sit in the satchel. So it's a really disappointing experience. Not to mention they were acting illegally.
Service and food was excellent as in the past. It was downhill for a while but then it recovered back to the old standards during these weeks before their scheduled permanent closing on 9-14-24. Too bad that they could not maintain their previous standards and remain open.
We are incredibly sad this wonderful restaurant is closing. We had a wonderful time for my husband and I's anniversary dinner. Dan the server was a character and very fun. We wish the owners and staff all the best and thank them for the delicious food and romantic setting. One of a kind experiences close to home that we truly cherished.
My salmon was fine and cooked to perfection. My husband had the French dip and said that he didn't realize it came with onions. He typically has eaten this many times, many places, and never served with onions. It was too heavy
One of our go-to restaurants in the area. The food is exceptional and the waitstaff matches that! Last night though, not sure what's happening in the kitchen, but the food took an hour to get to the table. Not the waiter's problem. He can't serve what isn't finished. The restaurant is closing, so we're super bummed about that and likely that might also be the issue in the kitchen.

it was Friday lunch with out of town guest. waited almost 20 minutes for help. there were many empty tables. I have been a long time customer here and have been very happy. Today very disappointed.
Starter dishes were just bad! The French onion soup was watered down and fused with vinegar which totally spoiled it. The crab cakes were almost burned crisp on the outside and dry inside. The crab was grounded and lost the taste of freshness. The main dishes of Beef Wellington and braised short ribs were quite tasty. We had no desserts.
We had an awful experience. The cheese plate had moldy fruit. The French onion soup was watered down. We ordered 3 beef wellingtons and 2 were over cooked and burnt. The potatoes were burnt. We never ate dinner because we were so disappointed. The scallop dinner was okay but the risotto was under cooked. The manager seemed completely dismissive to us. The manager did remove the 2 dinners. But still felt it was appropriate to charge for moldy food. For the price of the food and the style of the restaurant. We definitely expected better. Absolutely low quality food and service with a lack of concentration for customers. If I were the owner of this restaurant, I would be completely ashamed! I would never let that quality of food leave my kitchen! And my staff would be retrained. We will not be returning.
Perfect place for special occasion and experiential dining. We started with cocktails - Coconut Vacation and an Old Fashioned. Both were excellent! Had the crab cakes as an appetizer and really enjoyed them. I had the scallops and husband had the Beef Wellington. We recommend both! Dinner was finished with a deliciously rich chocolate dessert. ?

Beautiful setting and amazing delicious food. The service was excellent as well! Only complaint is if you sit outside, they need to do some spider web cleaning, the window where we sat had a large web with spiders and the table had webs all through them. We had a lovely dinner and evening on the outside terrace, it had nice french music playing and was quieter than inside! The happy hour is nice and long too outside! 4-7 pm, 25% off drinks
