That was an experience. Like going back in time. The narrow stairs leading upstairs were a treat

The short: To justify why our fresh drinks were pulled off our table even through it was in front of chairs with jackets and had covers/napkins on top of the glasses, a young bartender tried to lecture me that the drinks were fair game because, per her statement, drinks get drugged at their bar.The context: I am a professor of business at Sierra College and wanted to speak with a manager to inform him of the poor business practice of the cleaning staff. Since bar staff is clearly not allowed to replace drinks (understandable since people lie) and it was more than hour before closing, this practice of early cleaning is not appropriate service. Of course, I was told there was not a manager on premises even though it was Friday with Karaoke downstairs and a band upstairs, so this statement his highly suspect too.The Good: Grooveline, the band, was great; the drinks and cover are reasonably priced and of reasonable quality. The Bad: A good night was quickly soured and made worse because staff is not properly trained and does not understand the assignment. The crowd was largely middle aged and the point of the bar is to entertain and serve. Pulling fresh drinks that should be clearly left alone was the start of the problems, but the attitude of young staff and the attempt to lecture older patrons with stories about drugging that “actually happen here” (per the bartender), as if to justify and defend the practice is completely tone deaf and damaging to the reputation of their employer and establishment. It was also stated that drinks left alone on a dance night with live music in the upper room with reserved tables are fair game, again seems to be a long stretch. This all happened between 11:00 and 11:30 in a full bar. At best, they pull drinks and management hides from accountability & there is a general need to better train staff, including in customer relations and promotion of the bar as a quality and safe place; at worst, they might be telling the truth, and drinks get drugged at the Opera House per the bartender’s report and there was little concern for myself as a customer. The conclusion: I would recommend against any person taking abuse from a server in any establishment and any place that does take such matters seriously is not worthy of patronage.I would be happy to discuss this incident with management in more detail.

Great venue to see live music in Old Roseville. Big stage and huge dance floor. They always have great entertainment on the weekends. Our favorite bartender Michelle makes the best margaritas.

Saw a couple of cover bands (Bad Jovi). Great venue (upstairs). Big wide open floor with pub style seating around the back and behind the dance floor/ stage. The upstairs bar gets very crowded, during the show. Just slip downstairs for a drink. Downstairs remains open during the show. While a little understaffed, bartenders were friendly.

Opera house saloon is the best place in the world to go see music bands, and have an absolute great time!!!

Great night out with friends. Solid bands in an impressive venue. Start the night downstairs with some karaoke and drinks and then venture back to the 80s upstairs with some talented cover bands. We will be back!

First time at the opera house saloon tonight-- surprised they're only open for 3 hours on Thursday, from 6-9pm. Paid the $15 cover for the line dancing lesson which was a blast from 6-7pm. Awesome time with a PACKED room! 90% female, 10% male. Only open bar was downstairs, which didn't seem to make sense when all of the patrons were upstairs. There was 1 bartender working his tail off to quickly serve the rush of patrons from 7:00-7:30pm between line dancing sessions. Actually spoke with the manager (Melissa? Michelle?) who said they were working on offering a limited drink service upstairs but it wasn't a priority because "the people who line dance don't drink." Ummmm....really? Long story short, Jaime is a one man show who needs backup support at the bar. Both upstairs and downstairs bars should be open on Thursdays, and consider expanding serving hours on Thursdays until 10 or 11pm. I have bartending experience and am open to filling one of these positions ‍

Very cool ambiance even the bathroom is a positive visual experience. Great for dance events. The only issue we ran into was they served us undercooked chicken. So, as long as that is addressed, I will gladly go back for future events.

Look, this venue is awesome, I get that. Went here for a salsa night and the place is so cool. Big dance floor, stage, amazing bathroom even! No fancy drinks, which is fine. Simple bar. I can deal. But DO NOT EAT HERE. When we ordered chicken tenders she delivered it without fries and said they were out of fries so it was free. Okay, sure, hey thanks. But then the chicken was RAW. LIKE RAW RAW, every piece completely pink and raw in the middle. And the response was oh our vendor's fault blah blah and good thing I didn't charge you. ........If you serve someone raw chicken I feel like you should be more apologetic. Service recovery is a thing. It's important. Even if you're busy. And then it took a HOUR for some fried ravioli (whoops we forgot). Um. Anyway, I'd go again for the venue itself but I'm pretty disappointed in the food/service.

Haden was our waitress at the bar. Not only was she attentive and assertive, she demonstrated initiative in keeping us safe in a vulnerable situation. She was so respectful and kind. I can't even to begin to describe how kind she was about how assertive someone trying to buy MARRIED WOMEN a drink.

We bought tickets for one of their concerts. Online the concert is suppose to start at 8:00. Arrive at 7:45 and find out concert starts at 9:00. This venue is aware of this discrepancy but can't be bothered to correct it. Their time is more important than mine.
