Excellent ambience great customer service a lot of fun to go and just relax if you wanna take some time to read a book or think or just listen to your AirPods it is really a well put together place! They could have an extra bathroom though that's the only thing! Otherwise, it's best in town!

Me and my friends have been going to root of happiness for months now. My friends and I have gotten our IDs checked there a few times but most the time we never have to show it (we are all of age) We became some what regulars. One time the main lady who works there (not sure of her name) asked for my ID and i explained that it was in my purse in my car and that I had a picture of it. She said I could show her the picture and all was good. So from then on I never worried about forgetting my ID since she allowed me to show her a picture. It was very strange every time they ID checked me and my friends. Some times they wouldn't check and some times they would. Never consistent. Tonight me and my friends came to Root of happiness and came right in and met up with some of our other friends there. We never ordered anything to drink and were simply there to chill with some friends. We had been in there for almost 25 minutes when the same lady who I always see came up to us and asked if we had our IDs checked. We explained that we had left them in our car once again since we werent buying anything and saw no reason to bring our wallets. We then explained to her that we had pictures and could show her (me thinking in my head we would be okay since this has worked in the past) The lady then got very persistent that we had to have our real IDs with us. There was a group of maybe 8 of us and we all were told to leave since me and 2 of my other friends didn't have our IDs. It was extremely confusing and we all felt unsettled about the whole situation. As we were leaving one of the other workers yelled "no ID go home!" We were walking back to our cars when this was yelled. The whole situation made us feel very targeted and especially being regulars it makes me not want to come back. Very disappointed with how the whole situation was handled.

The food was cooked as requested, tasty and perfect temperatures. The staff were very friendly, recommended various when asked and brought the food out to you quickly. The restaurant was a neat little restaurant with a Hawaii/surfer vibe. Very clean to include the restroom. It obviously is a popular spot as it fills up quickly.

Place is fun! First time going the bar tenders set you up right! The flavor of kava is definitely something to get used to but they have a good array of chasers and mixed drink options.

Arrived on a Saturday night and there was a decent crowd but didn’t have to wait too long to order. We have never experienced kava before so we asked for a recommendation and the gal suggested a cloud chaser so we each got one, one with strawberry syrup and one with honey syrup. We also ordered an orange dream because how can you not as well as a cold brew coffee. The coffee and orange dream were good! The cloud chaser must be an acquired taste because there is no way I could drink it. The gal behind the counter gave us fruit chasers and recommended to just chug it but I had to take a sip first just to see and there is no way I could have chugged a good 6-8 ounces of that. As soon as it hits your lips they do go a little numb or tingle at least but the taste is so bad, if I had to guess what melted down plastic tasted like, it’s a cloud chaser. I’m not sure if it’s the kava taste, I’ve never had kava, or if the drink was just bad but either way we couldn’t do it so I guess we will never know what it feels like after you finish your drink

Even if I move half way across the world I would still buy a ticket back to Roseville just to come to kava. I love the vibe, the people, the staff, and how welcoming and chill everyone is.
Good service with friendly, outgoing and inclusive staff. Sit at the bar and you're bound to strike up a conversation.

Ambiance and service is great at ROH! However, the drinks are far from what I expected. Extremely sweet with no carbonation or acidity to to offset it. I could only have two sips and then I just couldn't finish. Also more expensive then it should be.
