Let me start out by saying this place is Awesome. The customer service that Dinh and Mimi provided my wife and I with was simply OUTSTANDING!! Everybody else was awesome too, but those were the ones that stood out! We are expecting our first child, and had just left our ultrasound appointment down the street, and the way they served us and the respect they gave us..it couldn’t have gotten any better and I highly appreciated it. I mean they spoiled My wife and I, always checking to make sure we’re okay and asked about our baby and when he’s due..and they gave off those genuine mother vibes like they truly cared. I told the waiter that we’d be sharing the plates together, & When Dinh asked how I’d like my steak, I was debating..and she even had the consideration to tell me that I should get it well done because of my wife being pregnant and that pregnant women can’t eat raw meat. Those types of things were not fully educated on due to
It being our first child..so that was outstanding. The food & environment was Great & the service was even better!!! 10/10 definitely recommend this place! Thanks again to all of the staff & especially Dinh and Mimi 🙏👍🏻

Disappointed After Years of Loyalty
I’ve been a regular at Soho Sushi and Tappenanyaki for a long time. The food has always been great, the service solid, and I’ve recommended this place to friends and family countless times. In fact, any time we have a special occasion, I usually insist we go to Soho. But after my recent experience, I’m honestly questioning if I’ll ever come back.
We went out as a family—me, my wife, our 4-year-old, our 3-year-old, and our 3-month-old infant. We spent about $184 in total, but nearly $30 of that was an automatic gratuity because of their “parties of 5 or more” policy.
Here’s the issue: they counted our three-month-old baby as a full person toward that party of five. A baby who doesn't order food, doesn't drink water, doesn't even sit in their own chair. Just there, quiet in his car seat. I wouldn’t be complaining if we had five actual people eating. But charging us $30 extra because of an infant is just petty and greedy.
This isn’t about tipping—I always tip well when service is good. This is about principle. If your policy can't distinguish between a paying guest and a literal newborn, it’s flawed. And honestly, it left a bad taste in our mouths after what should’ve been a nice family dinner.
You just lost a loyal customer over $30 you didn’t earn.

We love coming to this place only because of Poli and his cooking. He always does such a good job and cooks amazing food. He's funny too! We hope he never leaves !

We ordered food and it was fine, service was less than mid at first but slightly got better, but that went downhill when we asked to share a plate and they made us pay $5. FIVE DOLLARS?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Unbelievable manager policy, why make people pay an extra $5 when they already payed for the food? It's up to the customers what they do with the food no?? Food was good though, service was ok. **except for the guys that make the food in front of you, they're the star of the place and are very friendly and funny :D

Dirtiest restaurant I've been to in years. The bathroom looked like a gas station bathroom from the 1970's that hadn't been cleaned in forever and the rest of the restaurant wasn't much better. Food was bland, service so-so, and how we didn't get food poisoning is a miracle. I reported the bathroom to the staff and they looked at me like they didn't know what to do about it. The place is depressing!

So fun watching the talented chefs. I should have ordered something from the griddle. I opted for the chicken teriyaki bento box. Weird teriyaki sauce and overcooked chicken..but my dogs liked it.
The food is pretty good. It's a little pricey. The atmosphere leaves some to be desired.

Nah seems everytime we spend time and our money here this place get worse the food is bland the service is terrible. The restaurant dining room smells the tables are dirty. I used to like the restaurant this will be my last visit. They had no tofu no white wine. The bill did not reflect the value of the food served. It's poor all around. Would not recommend eating here.

This is my second time here at SoHo. I went once last months for the first time and everything was great! It’s not the cleanest inside but the food was good so I decided to come back. Today it was a whole other story. I had reservations for a party of 5. Once we arrived we were seated promptly. I’m surprised it wasn’t as busy inside. Once seats we were given menus then a woman came and asked two of us what we wanted to drink they said waters and she just left and got everyone waters when we returned. I asked her for a sprite and she made a face. It’s not my fault that she didn’t ask for what I wanted in the beginning. After we ordered our Teppanyaki chef came about 15 minutes later. During that time they sang happy birthday to another person at a table and gave them an ice cream with a candle. Once the chef got to our table (I didn’t catch his name but he was the younger white dude with a beard ) the first thing he did was repeat our orders then ask if there was any celebrations or birthday. We all said yes to a birthday and pointed to the birthday girl. He started making the veggies then began ranting about his personal life. The only trick he did was the flaming volcano for about 2seconds and that was it. Behind us another table had Chef Tim (I got him last time and he was a 5/5! Put on great show) and that chef was doing tricks, interacting great with the guests and everything. I asked our chef if he was going to do anything like that and all he said was no because he didn’t want to clean. We all got the upgraded garlic chicken fried rice for $3.00 a plate but they put NO garlic in the rice this time at all. The food was good and tastes up to par. Throughout the whole time cooking the chef was venting about his personal life going through a divorce, family health issues and etc. I understand we all go through things but to guests that you are cooking for is not the right audience. I really liked this place the first time around, the 45 minute drive was well worth it. I was extremely disappointed this time around. I will not be coming back. If you do come here avoid this chef and just wait and get another one. Keep in mind there is an 18% gratuity added to party’s of 5 or bigger.
