Our waitress started out very attentive. Then when people came in that she knew, we were slightly neglected. Waiting for more wine, someone else gave us our meal, when it came to get the bill, i had my
Purse on my lap and my husband had his cc out. She finally came over with the bill and my husband handed her the card. She apologized for the delay, she said she was interacting with a six year old. Earlier a family came in and sat at the bar and she had shots with them. I forgot her name but she had large black glasses. We were there sunday oct 26 at 5:00pm.

Everything was wonderful. The food and service outstanding. I only give the atmosphere a 4 because the music is a bit too loud for our taste!

Excellent food and atmosphere!
I wanted to like this place but the food wasn’t good. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing but both my bf and I did not like what we ordered. I got the Boscaiola with hand cut pasta. There was barely any sauce. Lots of mushrooms but not the good kind. And the pasta was very doughy. They also put in the wrong order for my bf. So after waiting a really long time for our food, he had to wait longer for his, and we ended up eating our dinners at separate times. I was surprised the server didn’t try to address the issue better than just saying “sorry”. For $75+ , you should probably go somewhere where they actually know how to prepare food like The Waterboy. We won’t be returning to The Place.

I had been to The Place with friends for dinner when it first opened and the food was SO delicious!
Last night (Saturday) I made dinner reservations for 6 of us at 6:30 pm. The ENTIRE experience was horrible. From the extremely loud atmosphere (they also had live music -- completely unnecessary -- which made the noise level even more unbearable), to the fact that our food was not served to us until 9:00 pm. (Our server told us the kitchen was really behind.) One of our guests had ordered a salad and it was delivered just a few minutes before her main meal (this was after she asked our server if he planned to serve it with her main meal, and if so, she didn't want it). Two of the meals were served first and it took quite some time before the other four were finally served. The server never asked us if we'd like freshly grated parmesan cheese, which I thought was odd for an Italian restaurant. Two of us ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was honestly tasteless. We finally asked for parmesan cheese, but it didn't do much to help enhance the flavor. The chicken was very tough and hard to cut, even though it was thin. For me, it was the worst Italian meal I've ever had. Another one of our guests ordered spaghetti with sausage, but instead he was served meatballs, which he declined. A bit later the server brought him sliced sausage that had clearly been thrown on a skillet and quickly seared. When we spoke to our server about this, he said the restaurant was training a bunch of new people in the kitchen......on Saturday night Labor Day weekend? Really?! We let our server know how disappointed we were in the food, service and overall loud ambience and that we expected an adjustment in our bill to reflect our bad experience. Our server told is he would let the owner know, but there was no adjustment to our bill, nor any type of sincere acknowledgement or apology for our experience. Bottom line: The Place has lost 6 patrons who enjoy going out to eat and supporting local businesses, and we are all already letting our friends in town know about our bad experience. It was a Very Disappointing evening.

Always fantastic food and great service.
I am from the east coast and this is the closest to East Coast Italian food I have ever had in California.

Love the atmosphere, it’s a cute little restaurant. Being raised in New York in an Italian family I wanted just a little more authenticity. The manicotti was mushy, the Cannoli’s weren’t good at all. The chicken parm was good tho. The wine was awful and the red wine was as cold as white wine which was weird to have it so cold. Just OK for me. Still looking for good Italian food in California.

The place used to be fine Italian dining. And then when you take Italians there and they don't have an espresso machine, and their cannolis didn't wow them, then how good of a place can it be? Worth going, just leave tradition at home.

The Place in Roseville is hands down one of my favorite spots to eat! The vibe is cozy yet trendy, perfect for date night or dinner with friends. The service is always friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
Now let’s talk food—absolutely incredible. The pasta is fresh and flavorful, the pizzas are perfectly wood-fired, and the wine selection is top-notch. You can tell they put thought and heart into every dish.
If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go. You’ll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.
We stopped by before this place opened and were intrigued, so we made a point to come back once it did. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start.
There are no servers—you order and pay through a link online, which made it feel more like a diner or fast-casual spot rather than a restaurant. Yet, the prices don’t reflect that at all. We were served on paper plates with plastic cups, which felt cheap considering how much they’re charging.
Another letdown: they don’t serve ranch, only blue cheese, which was unexpected and honestly strange given how common ranch is as a dressing option.

My daughter and her mother brought me here for Father's Day dinner. It is a great place, small, so make sure to make reservations ahead of time. Though it did take a while to get seated and get drinks, I'd say overall a great recommendation for Italian food. My daughter had the Cheese Ravioli e pomadoro, can't go wrong with Ravioli with delectable, her mother had the Braised Beef in Polenta that was to die for as that beef was so tender and it paired very well with the polenta, and I had the Wild Mushroom Black Truffle Risotto that was so amazingly delicious, I left that plate trembling 😁

Service was great waitress was very polite and attentive. We had a party of 10 and were served fairly quickly. Chicken was wonderful ,tender and juicy and the Lasagna was freshly made and delicious.
The only negative thing I can say is about the portion size. I feel the portions were fairly small for the price. (mid priced) Chicken Marsala $31.00 .
Parking wasn't to bad and because we had a reservation , there was no wait time being seated. Cocktails are a little on the pricey side but tasty so all around 👍

What a wonderful date night dinner with the hubby. Artichoke App was delish, similar to one we had in Rome a few years ago. Entrée we split , the Mac n Cheese with Meatballs added was delish. Second entrée, Braised Short Rib was divine. Service was awesome, quick and very friendly. THANK YOU for a great date night dinner!

Fanatic food especially the homemade pasta dishes. The portions could be bigger and the atmosphere is very loud, perfect for an Italian place. The service is fantastic and friendly.
Small, intimate and very lively. Decent selection of dishes on the menu. Salads were well presented and well dressed. The pizza was flavorful but the crust was doughy.
