I recommend you not come here if you plan on bringing children. The restaurant is not family friendly. The manager became rude when learning that some in our reservation were children to the point that we didn’t feel welcome (tossing silverware around mumbling to himself). There was no one else in the restaurant! He ultimately told us to eat at the pizza parlor across the road. No thanks.Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly at all

I took my girlfriend out for Valentine's day and was very happy to get reservations the day before, Neither of us had been there before and it got great reviews. The restaurant was very nice, and exactly what I wanted for our special night and the atmosphere, service and quality of food lived up to the reviews. It was quaint, quiet, seating perhaps 25 guests. Service was great , food was delicious, and we had a very nice dinner and I would recommend them wholeheartedlyThe only things I can say that were negative were the parking. Ross has parking spaces in a very limited supply in that area which is not the restaurants fault. The other was the cost, the reviews on line gave $$$ out of 5. I did not want the price of our meal to put a damper on our evening, so I was not caught unprepared when the bill came. I have no problem spending money taking my girlfriend out, , but in this case the cost would make me think twice before returning again. Let me explain - We were having a romantic dinner we shared a salad, and after dinner a wonderful dessert with coffees. She had a glass of wine , I had a beer, with our dinners ,all said and done with tax and tip was 150. Like I said everything was great , just a bit pricey for Italian food for 2 people. Keeping in mind the cost of living has gone up the last 3 years , and we are in Marin, plus being Valentine's Day all played a part in the overall cost. I am glad to see places to dine out are still out there trying to make it after COVID shut so many down .Go try the place out ,eat, drink and make merriment. Decide for yourself if the bang is worth the bucks you spend.Parking: Evening after 530 pm parking is not as bad.

Quaint restaurant very reminiscent of trattorias in Italy. Owner//chef greets his guests at their table (a nice touch.) Interesting and diverse menu. Large wine list of Italian vintages.

Thou shalt not find better pasta. This is a one-man show, so be a respectful customer and you will have a wonderful experience!!

Mouth watering pastas and unique pinsas as authentic as anything you can find in Italy. Dining at Fresco feels and tastes like being transported into a real Italian Trattoria, something unique to Marin. Be sure to make reservations and try the homemade deserts, too! Veramente buonissimo!

The minestrone soup was homemade with fresh vegetables - delicious, simple and excellent. The salmon was fresh and cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and just a smidgeon rare on the inside - served with excellent polenta and broccolini. The best dish was the mushroom lasagna. Fresh mushrooms with rosemary seasoning and perfectly cooked.

The food was excellent, but I was singularly unimpressed with the proprietor (who served us). Perhaps it's because he's a Florentine - they tend to be more impressed with themselves than I am. The food WAS outstanding, however.

First time here. It reminded us of a side street trattoria in Italy. Unassuming decor with delicious food. Our appetizer was particularly noteworthy - some polenta with a Gorgonzola sauce that was scrumptious.

We celebrated a birthday at Trattoria Fresco. Everything was perfect. The food is prepared to order by the owner/chef, who also is the server, or was when we went there. He was charming, prompt, and attentive to our preferences. The food is homestyle Italian, with all pasta made in house. We loved it.

Marco, the owner seems to do it all. He's very friendly, helpful and wrote the menu to reflect what's in season. He goes weekly to the farmers market and buys the best quality ingredients. His restaurant is neighborly and attracts people who like good food. The town of Ross is quaint and the restaurant fits in perfectly. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed .

Hi Marco, I don't know if you remember me and my family, we had a Colombian evening in your restaurant many years ago, we have now lived in Rome for 8 years and we really want to return to your restaurant.

Some of the best food anywhere in a cozy setting. ... Too bad that's not really enough when the waiter knows pretty much nothing about the menu and even less about the wine list. They didn't even flip the sign from “chiuso “ to “aperto “ so we weren't even sure they were open yet. ... The waiter could not answer any of our questions, offered no advice and just didn't seem to grasp how to welcome diners to improve a fine dining experience. All questions went to the chef, who was of course too busy to multitask. No discussing anything, just order! Presto! ... When I asked for another glass of wine, the waiter got stuck. I waited five minutes hoping they'd figure things out, but no. I went up with a smile to tell him what I was drinking. Bad move. The chef told me to go back and sit down. I returned to our table with a frown. Felt like I ordered a round of them! Turns out we would have been better off ordering a bottle both for price and convenience. ... This was a Saturday during prime dinner hour, when you would expect to meet their best team. ... They asked what dessert I wanted, but never brought a dessert menu! I asked for something chocolate and got nowhere even though something was listed online.

This place is great, food is fantastic, and very much an Italian home meal. It's small, intimate and rustic inside. The owner Marco is fantastic, but I will pre warn everyone he is an Italian through and through, this is basically a one man show for everything. Pretend you are in Italy and NOT an American tourist. Service can be slow and lazy, if you're in a rush don't go. He doesn't take a lot of customers, doesn't need a lot of customers. He is more like an Artist than a Business person. His wait staff turnover is high, generally not qualified, and Marco makes up the difference. If you have a problem with him or create a hassle for him he will tell you in no uncertain terms to GTFO - he is there for his passion and just enough money to live - he doesn't try to kill it. Hours, like in Italy are played by ear. If there aren't a lot of customers or he's tired and wants to go home, don't expect him to wait around for you towards closing time (and by that I mean at least an hour, not roll in 5 minutes before he closes - don't be surprised if he boots you). If you can get by that, he is a warm, kind and generous person who is very passionate about his food and it shows. He'll make some authentic Italian dishes, some will seem simple and bland, and some will be over the top crazy good. That's how they do it in Italy... come enjoy the experience, but be prepared. My wife, my kids, all love this place - have had many meals and special occasions here.

This is our favorite restaurant in the area. Marco is a wonderful chef and very friendly. We visit from out of the area every year and we come to this restaurant several times during our stay.
