I’m a big fan of skewers, and this place truly stands out among all the skewer spots I’ve visited. One of the unique experiences here is grilling the fresh meat skewers yourself, which allows you to fully appreciate the juiciness and heartiness of each bite. Their dan dan noodles are a must-try and come highly recommended.

I LOVE this restaurant, I’ve been here more than a few times and will be back again.

The skewers here are delicious, the coals give an amazing charred flavor to the meat. My favorites are the marinated lamb, scallop, and chicken cartilage skewers.
The table peanuts are so good too!

Service is great, they will help out with your skewers when they can, and are quick to get you what you need.

Not much more to say than to try it for yourself and hope you have a good time too. 🤭

We ordered beef, beef tongue, spicy beef, and some veggie skewers — all perfectly seasoned with that addictive spicy kick.

For appetizers, we had the fried seasoned chicken skin (so good), potato salad, and Korean cold noodles. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot.

One tip: definitely check in on Yelp ahead of time or you’ll be waiting over an hour. Other than that, I absolutely love this place and will keep coming back for my skewer fix!

The food was excellent and the ambiance was also very enjoyable. The two female servers provided exceptional service. They were attentive, friendly, and truly helpful throughout our visit. I would have given five stars if it weren’t for the male server with bleached or blond hair. He was quite rude, brought the wrong dishes to our table multiple times, and walked away without responding when we pointed it out. He avoided eye contact and appeared to ignore us when we tried to ask questions. Despite that, the food was outstanding and the rest of the service was great. I would definitely return, hopefully without encountering that particular server again.

Good grilled skewer spot, lots of choices and fresh meat. Cheap drinks and if you take a few ppl with you, a really good. Time. What do you think of this place, Kevin?

Still solid and tasty food, although I think it's getting a little saltier than I remember it being. I found myself thinking I need more water constantly. Also service is just mediocre. The staff is nice and all but they seemed to forget things and I found them chatting up their co-workers instead of bringing us the check and a water refill like we had asked for 15 minutes earlier.

Still would visit again, just would order rice to cut down the saltiness and would be more on top of the staff about stuff

One of the best skewer places around! (They use actual coal!) On top of skewers, we always get the crawfish rice (spicy or garlic). Their squid is also surprisingly delicious!

The atmosphere makes it a great location to hang and drink with friends. You can also check in on Yelp early!

This place never disappoints!

After visiting Chubby Skewer last month, I wanted to revisit GUI to compare the two. While I enjoyed Chubby’s self-service setup, I still think GUI takes the win, even with the slightly higher price point.

GUI’s menu is extensive, and the portions for each skewer are noticeably larger. They also use coal for cooking by default instead of gas, which enhances the flavor. Their grilling setup includes an auto-rotating mechanism that ensures the meat cooks evenly—a big plus. Keep in mind that each skewer takes at least 5 minutes to cook (sometimes longer), so this isn’t a place for a quick meal. The wait time reflects this too; we waited about 40 minutes for our table.

The vibe at GUI is lit—music videos playing loudly on the TV screens really set the mood. However, we wished the skewers had arrived before the appetizers so we could start grilling sooner. Instead, we finished all the appetizers and then had to wait for the skewers to cook.

Overall, despite the wait and higher cost, GUI delivers on quality and atmosphere, making it my top pick for Chinese skewers.

I am not picky at all for restaurants I visited. But this is my first time in here to write review. The one star I gave is only the nice service of the staff. But for food, it is nothing worth to review. Disaster! Don't expect it is an authentic BBQ restaurant. What we can taste is just the seasoning. It seems like they marinate all food in one seasoning pot and serve to the table. Won't be back! Never.

horrible food, was excited to visit because of how much people were waiting in line, The service wasn’t bad and the waiters were friendly. The atmosphere also want bad. But the the most important part; the food was very below average. Everything was salty and extremely over seasoned. The wings made me cough because of the excessive seasoning that was put on it, couldn’t even finish 2. The corn cheese is also very drab and wasn’t cooked properly. I asked for the WiFi password as google said there was free WiFi. The waitress told me there wasn’t even though there WiFi literally appeared on my settings. Either thr waitress is misleading or google is. I won’t recommend this place, never coming back again.
