place must have gone bad… cashier assumed we wouldn’t understand and made remarks on what we were ordering, food was ok.

I visited the store around 5 PM yesterday. We got the food very quickly; however, the dry pot taste had changed. Mala paste is not getting inside the veggies and meat, so we explained to the staff who wear glasses whose English is not good. We noticed the flavor changed very obviously, so I asked the chef had changed it or not. The staff said yes, so we asked the cashier guy to fix the 2 dried pots for us. They just added more paste and served it to us. The food was very salty and could not able to eat at all. I complained to the staff, but he do not take any action did not even say sorry. I am a regular customer and visit the place almost every other 2 weeks in a month. It is very disappointing, and I will not be coming back again.

This is a place that theres a rawr food counter where you grab the food you want and give it to the server. They have different soup bases and whatever you chooses, they will use the soup bases ( 4-5 different options ) to cook the food. Pretty popular for the past few years in US that came from china.

This place locates in Diamond plaza. You have to drive all the way in to where Midoh, MeloMelo, The Alley boba is. There's alot of parking here and underground parking toward the middle of the parking lot. It can get busy finding a spot nearby on nights because Chubby Cattle is a few stores away and its a popular spot for people to go.

The interior of this place is bright with orange and white wall. Once you get in, the left side is where you grab your food, the counter is straight ahead all the way inside.

I got the pork bone soup bases with mild spice level. This place only have spicy soup but mild spice is not that spicy because I'm someone that can't handle spicy. Lots of different food to pick from. Soup is rich.

The server that assisted me doesn't show alot of smile and when I asked him questions, he didnt seem that friendly. Not sure if he is just too bored / not enjoying his job / or thats how he is but you cannot be like that as customer service. You don't need to please people but the way hows hes presented can really turn people away.

I wanted to give this place a 4 because the food and settings are all 4 but the server's presentation had me make the decision of giving is a 3. Don't get me wrong, he's not mean or he said some bad things but
He needs to be aware of how he's presenting himself.

Food was good but the cashier got upset when we didn’t put a tip (like I get it it’s good to tip but if you have an option for us to not tip when we pay, why don’t they expect people to not tip?) the tipping culture is actually so toxic nowadays. Me and my friend fell into peer pressure and we just gave him a $10 tip. Now we think about it, he doesn’t even deserve that because of how he reacted when we pay. The cashier is an older man with beanie on.

I don’t know how they got such high reviews, but the bone soup we ordered was so oily and greasy that we had to dip everything in water before putting it into the mouth. Also the crispy pork is more like crispy dough. Not recommended and definitely won’t come again.

Actually don't know 5 stars for service is appropriate since we kind of serve ourselves! Anyhow, it's our first time here. We were kind of lost because there's only one person behind the counter and he told us where you sit and that was pretty much it. We sat down and don't know what to do. Then we see other people came in and started to get their own bowls you get food. Then we realize that that's how it works. So you get a seat. Then go grab a bowl and start to fill up your bowl with the food you want like veggie, meat...etc. Then you give the bowl to him and he'll weigh your bowl and ask you what kind of soup made you want. There are like 4 choices. I chose the basic bone soup and my wife had the tomato base. It's going to be a lot of food if you fill up in your bowl. We couldn't finish and had to bring home left over. We'll definitely come back and this time we know exactly what we want. The beef is very good. So go for beef.
Overall the food was very tasty. We liked it very much. Very simple choices and not overwhelmed like some giant hot pot places where you don't know what to get. It really worth a try if you like hot pot.

AUTOCHARGED ME 20% gratuity for 1 bowl, before I could even press any custom option for tip, which made my 1.47 pound bowl cost almost $30... Keep in mind that the advertised price is supposed to be $13.99 per pound. They didn't even allow me to get my receipt.

Restroom was also disgusting, with no toilet paper or paper towels. Food selection was also not the best, but average with a wide selection of items. Some items however, like the mini sausages were still frozen though with ice particles around them. I usually love Zhangliang Malatang but I would avoid staying away from this location.

We are muslim couples came to dine at this place, when we order our food with non-pork ingredients, they served us with pork sausages which is something we didn’t order. Server guy or owner wasn’t humble enough to make a refund or not even ask the cook on the back if anything was mixed up.

Malatang is savory and good, but not exactly the Mala spicy soup you would traditionally expect. It has its own taste.

Food was amazing but the staff needs to work on their manners. They don’t welcome you in and don’t talk to you unless you do. It’s like their mute or something.

The bowl is so LARGE. It has so much options to choose. So much different kind of Noodles, meatballs, spicy beef, good cut of beef, lamb, spam, tons of veggies. Sauce is FREE. 5-6 kind of soup to choose. My favorite one is tomato soup. It's so delicious. Thank you. Its $25, but tbh my bowl can feed me 3 meals lol. $14 per lbs.
