Came to have brunch at old country coffee shop. The place is very cozy and clean. The service was outstanding. The food tasted like it was made by grandma , it was just delicious. Not like your typical chained breakfast places.

I really loved this restaurant, the people were so kind, customer service was great! Chefs were quick with the food making! Food was also delicious, I wish I would have taken a picture of the rest of my food. This is just a pancake and I added the strawberries and whipped cream which is a couple dollars extra. ?

This is a hidden gem in Running Springs.. I have been coming here for many many years. The servers are always friendly and attentive. This morning I was going to stop in for biscuits and gravy (which is yummy), but they had fresh corned beef and eggs. I'm Irish so yes I did.. Let me tell you.. It was really really really good.. Thank You...

Best country fried steak I've ever had! It was flavorful, the crust had an amazing texture, meat was high quality. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the country potatoes complimented everything. The interior is like a 50s diner where you can see the chef cooking across from the long countertop top. The tables and chairs had the vintage formica. The staff was welcoming and quick. I would come here again. Highly recommend for great food and if you like nostalgic Americana diners

I eat there at least once a month after I do a hike with my friend. We've been doing this for 3+ years. She lives in Running Springs and we go for a hike every week, weather permitting. I live about 16 miles away in Highland and enjoy whenever we go

Grew up here in RS and actually worked here back in the mid 80s as a kid. I try to ride up here once a week and grab breakfast or lunch. Great food and always great service.

Waitress was attentive, kind and informative. Food was a little heavy with grease, plating could be improved. The amount of menu items is horrendous. There is no need for 200 menu items at a small place like this. Cut your menu by 70% and lower the prices by at least a dollar for ea item and trust you will have a hot spot in RS! Indoors could use some cleaning. Even the salt and pepper shakers seem unclean on the top, as well as the napkin dispensers, weekly cleaning and soaking would not hurt.

This will sound harsh but it's honest. I came here to get a New York steak while visiting. I ordered it medium rare. The steak came with a BAKED potato, veggies and a salad. The Steak wasn't pink at all and was certainly not a New York steak. It was a thin flap of f meat that left me craving a real steak, it was more like a flank steak. It was frozen and had a rubbery texture. It was hard to chew. The best part of the frozen, rubbery and overcooked flap of meat they called a steak were the mushrooms on top, those were good. The baked potato was obviously microwaved. It lacked the crispy skin and consistently of a baked potato. The vegetable was canned corn. The salad dressing was good but the salad wasn't anything really good. This meal ran almost $26. It was worth maybe $15 tops. I honestly felt cheated and lied to. My advice to this restaurant: Please don't call any flap of frozen meat a New York steak. It is dishonest. A New York steak is a specific cut and there was no way I was served the New York steak I paid for! Also, learn to cook meat. Medium rare means pink in the middle. Please also don't use frozen and rubbery meat, it's gross. Also, don't offer baked potatoes if you don't want to actually bake them. Finally, please just make fresh vegetables, why canned? Such a disappointing meal.

I expected this place to be a good experience but unfortunately it wasn't. I came here with my family of 10. We waited about 20 mins and were seated. We sat in two booths. It's a small cozy place. Smells like ketchup and maple syrup as soon as you walk in. Love it. Screams great breakfast joint. So we sit down and we're greeted by an older lady who immediately asked us if we were ready to order before we even looked at the menus. So we said we needed a couple more mins. A younger girl with gold hoops returns to take our order. Not very friendly. Hardly cracked a smile. Didn't bring a share plate for our shared entree. Had to get up and track her down for one eventually she brought it. She eventually checked in on us a couple times towards the end of our meal. The other waiters were very generous with coffee refills that was a huge plus for me bc I love my coffee and they had a pretty decent house coffee! I ordered the porterhouse and eggs medium rare. Received it well done. Zero pink. Over easy eggs. Came dry. Hash browns extra crispy. Not crispy at all. The pancakes were delicious and they're pretty big. I ordered one for my toddler with a scrambled egg. Wasnt horrible but wasn't the best either. I'm indifferent and honestly don't know if I would give this place another try

After eating here and several other places recently, I may need to consider lowering some.I ordered a lot as I knew I would likely not eat until the next day. Sasha recommended a half order of biscuits and gravy. Wow. They were delicious. Everything was cooked as I wanted.Peach pie for dessert was also delicious.

Some of the best diner food I’ve ever had, really. Great stuff. Biscuits and gravy are awesome.Only problem is it’s a bit…less than stellar on the cleanliness factor. But, I guess that’s part of the diner charm. Will definitely be back!
