Grgich Hills Estate

We thoroughly enjoyed our retrospective decade tasting with Ryan G. He shared his in-depth knowledge of the history of the winery and the wine, and their legacy. He made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Flowers were still blooming in the garden area, too, even though we visited in late October. This tasting was the highlight of our trip to the region (except the balloon ride was awesome, too!). We were happy to order selections we tasted and a few more. Thank you, Ryan!

Great experience. I prefer more muted old world style wines and this winery delivers on that note. The woman performing our tasting experience was excellent and very knowledgeable about various wines and styles as well as showing us a topographic map of the region and explaining the different terroirs of the wine region. We actually arrived about 2hrs before our reservation but they were generously able to accommodate us instead of turning us away which was very nice. They also...

I love that they accept walk-ins and how delicious the wine is. Very lovely patio to have a glass or two and a charcuterie cheese board. The Chardonnay is very light and no acidic undertones. The Cabernet has a Bordeaux taste and souped exceptional. Very friendly service too. Highly recommend.
