Great views, good wines, higher prices but service was not par to the premium experience that we hopped for. When we arrived we went to the concierge to find both of them talking amongst themselves right in front of us for almost 5m not greeting or acknowledging our presence. We left thinking maybe we are the wrong place when wandering around trying to find where to go we were approached by some staff that were very courteous and redirected us to the place we first started, after a few more minutes we were greeted by one of the servers that was really thoughtful and explained the tasting options and again we were forwarded to the concierge once again. After some more wait we were directed by them to our new server, that to be fair, was really good throughout the whole tasting, but at the end we were again left waiting not sure quite some time not sure if we should wait more or head out to the exit to settle the bill. We left and clearly upon arrival it was clear that someone should have explained the club options and assist us on the way out.
Great service, amazing newly remodeled outside area for hosting wine tasting, absolutely breathtaking view. We took the top option and had an unobstructed view of Napa valley for ourselves.
A truly memorable experience at Rutherford Hill Winery!
We were hosted by Ryan, who did a fantastic job accommodating our family’s diverse wine preferences. I’m a red wine enthusiast (who will happily enjoy a white), my wife prefers white and just lightly sips reds, and our daughter leans toward white but loves experimenting with new reds. Ryan navigated all of that with ease and curated a tasting that delighted each of us.
The setting was just as spectacular as the wine—perched high on the hill with sweeping views of the valley below. We stayed cool under a canopy of umbrellas while sipping through a generous and varied lineup of wines. Everything we tasted was so good that we ended up joining the wine club on the spot!
The team was so efficient with our order that the shipment nearly beat us home! A huge thanks to Ryan and everyone at Rutherford Hill for an unforgettable afternoon in wine country. We’ll definitely be back!
Rachel is excellent with great knowledge of surroundings. Definitely recommend her when you stop by here for a tasting. If you make reservations for view of the valley, they will also have your personalized greetings printed on tasting list Manu. Great place to take a rest, have some picnic, or just chill. Cave visit is on weekend only.
Need to have a better idea on how to make the tasting a more friendly experience and not acting as the employees don’t want to work there
Wine tasting about hour and a half and thirty minutes for Lord of the rings wine cave tour. Unforgettable experience! Super chill with amazing views, outdoor tasting. Great wine, great hospitality, great education. Walking inside that man-made cave was unreal; like a giant ant hill you can walk through.
I’ve been a member since 2017, and I was very surprised to receive a message this morning stating that my membership would be canceled without my permission.
I clearly communicated that I only wanted to skip this month’s shipment due to financial issues—not cancel my membership. However, I received a cancellation confirmation email shortly afterward.
This is not what I requested. Please have a manager contact me as soon as possible to clarify and resolve this issue.
Thank you.
Our wine tasting and wine pick up were great experiences! Every employee was so helpful and patient listening to our questions and requests. It was a wonderful, special time despite the rain ☔️ drizzle. Kudos to Stephanie Jacob’s!!! She is continuing the delicious wines we all love at Rutherford Hill.
Beautiful Spot and great wines!
Snobby. It is California so I shouldn’t be surprised, but the employees here are rude and make you feel unwelcome. Booked a wine tour months in advance. Showed up maybe 10 minutes early which seems normal to me, but apparently that was rude as everyone checking us in kinda mocked us. God forbid we’re not late. When we booked, it was advertised you could picnic which was a main reason we picked this spot. By the time for our tour arrived, picnics are now some ungodly cost like $200 to sit in an empty area. Relax. Its not THAT pretty.
The wine was fine. Honestly tastes no different than a 20 dollar bottle at the grocery store, but I was assured these grapes had “been through it”. Lol. what did they grow up on the streets of O block? Such a pretentious place, even for napa. I also was treated like a child when after an hour into the wine tour I asked if I could walk to the bathroom. Look, I would not be asking if I didnt need it. You think I just share my bathroom needs for fun? Lastly, our guide shamed us for sitting in the wrong spot on the tour. Im sorry, I thought when you said “sit and enjoy” you meant any available chair, not just the one in the dark corner.
I would not return and I will not be recommending.

A notorious winery, and one of those recommended to visit.
Very rude very rude would never come back sitting on the counter when we got there!
FYI the picnic area no longer exists, and they close at 5. It looks like they are remodeling the picnic area.
Even though we were walk-ins for wine-tasting our hostess made it a memory-packed experience.
The wines were notably delicious. All of them.
Did wine tastings in Napa at three wineries this trip. RH’s winery’s selections were glorious. Mumm’s were good. Chateau Montelena’s were a disappointing-emperor’s-new-clothes-waste-of-time; I guess they’re still coasting on the movie “Bottle Shock”’s (2008) inaccurate portrayal of the Valley’s nascent entry to the world Chardonnay market.
That’s a long laurel coasting.
Not the most positive experience. Felt ignored.
