My daughters and I travel frequently from Fairfield to Sacramento to eat at this restaurant.
The food is always perfection! Absolutely delicious each and every time. We love coming here and we love the owner, so glad she came back! She always greets us with a smile and is happy to see us, as we are happy to see her.

Abyssinia | Ethiopian Restaurant in Sacramento offers a delightful dining experience with its amazing Ethiopian cuisine. The menu features dishes like Ye-Doro Awaze Tibs and a variety of vegetarian options, catering to diverse tastes. The restaurant provides a comfortable and spacious environment, with ample parking and easy wheelchair accessibility, making it a great choice for families.
The atmosphere is cozy and clean, creating a welcoming ambiance. Customers can enjoy the unique experience of eating without utensils, using the traditional injera bread and flatbread as a tool to savor the flavorful dishes. The meat sampler and vegetarian sampler platter are a must-try for those who want to explore a variety of Ethiopian flavors. The meat sampler is amazing, with chicken that slides off the bone. The vegetarian sampler platter came with injera bread and an array of stews and lentil dishes that were bursting with flavor. The injera was soft and slightly tangy, perfect for scooping up the rich, spiced sauces. Each bite was vibrant and unique, with layers of spice that were complex without being overwhelming.
The owners are so incredibly nice, and the staff ensures a pleasant visit, with prompt service and a wholesome, kind demeanor. Customers praise the delicious food, with perfect seasoning and flavors, making Abyssinia a favorite Ethiopian restaurant for many in Sacramento. The restaurant also offers a warm and homely ambiance, and vegetarian and vegan-friendly options are available. The food was flavorful, fresh, and authentic. It was an experience that was as much about culture as it was about food.
