I miss the old Azul. This was my spot back in the day and they always delivered amazing food and drinks. I've gone back about 2-3 times last year and they have let me down every single time. The drinks were extremely sugary and sweet where I couldn't even taste the tequila in my margaritas. Now I usually love sweet drinks but they over did it. The food was also just ok at best.

Honestly had the best taco I've ever had the smokiest flavor- Asada that can only come from a true chef of Latin dissent, and came back for a burrito just now lol. THE OLD MAN IS THE BETTER COOK. Teach the younger ones to put some ducking flavor on their tacos!!! The cashier and bartender are super cute and I got a crush on the bigger one lowk such awesome service and so nice. Has some comfortable seats and tables for large crowds in a somewhat smaller place Finally the drinks here look badass think I had a Margarita here one time but every drink looks dope

Azul Mexican food and tequila bar is the perfect Sacramento Taco Tuesday spot. It is the premiere destination for tacos and margaritas. Their motto is, "to bring authentic Mexican food and modern contemporary style". I would say, mission accomplished. A warm plate of tacos and a refreshing strawberry margarita is the perfect way to celebrate Taco Tuesday. The service was efficient and friendly. All orders are made at the register. There isn't any table service available. The cashier made suggestions on tacos and our waters were refilled in a timely manner. This is a great taco Tuesday date spot. Enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa with a margarita while getting to know each other. Then order a couple $1.67 tacos. If the date is going well, play pool or throw axes at The Smart Axe. There are several fun places downtown to prolong the date. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

Amazing food. Wonderful people. Everybody was great there. All very helpful people. I had mole which was really good. My girl had mahi tacos. Incredible. Rice was really good. Great place to go. One of the best spots in Sac.

The food is always amazing. Our fav Mexican place in town. The service and people who run the place is top notch, very kind, and obviously have a lot of pride in what they do.

The food here is quite tasty. At this price point it’s definitely worth trying.I had the Birria tacos, which were delish. I like the garnishes as well, cilantro and minced onion and limes and a molé sauce. My lunch partner had the mahi tacos and said they were solidly good. The little bag of chips were made fresh in house and had a nice slightly smoky flavor. He reported the margarita as “good - it tasted like more…”Definitely worth trying.

Excellent food, tasted great and fresh. The place is small and there's a few outdoor tables if one prefers. Counter service at one end of the bar, and there's bar stools at the bar for one to enjoy food, beers, and other spirits!

Passing through Sacramento and I was hungry for some Mexican food and I found Azul's nearby my location. Stopped in for an early dinner and ordered the Sopes platter (3 Sopes) it didn't come with rice or beans so I took it as is, and I also ordered a cup of Tortilla soup. The tortilla soup came out pretty quick, I also was given a bag of tortilla chips and two salsa cups. The soup was average, leaned more on the sweet tomatoe side opposed to a chipotle or adobo spicy side. It has avocado slices, cubed queso and tortilla strips inside of it.The red salsa was very mild and tomatoey, while the green was a bit spicy and had a nice taste to it. Finally my Sopes came out and they were pretty small compared to your average sope, but had a fair amount of meat, lettuce, avocado and crema on them.I had two Pastor and one Carnitas and both meats were seasoned and cooked well. They were small though so they went down more like finger foods than a full meal.Overall not bad but not great. I'd eat there again if I wasn't very hungry but most likely next time I'm in town I'll try another place to satisfy my appetite.
