We have been eating at Bonzai Sushi (and using take-out) for many years and have never had anything but excellent food and service, in a truly local gem of a restaurant. One of the Pocket's best eateries. Even during Covid, they continued to serve the community with the same excellence. Our go to for sushi, noodles, and tempura in the Pocket.

Prices are okay. Whatever “special sauces” they put on the sushi, ruin the rolls. Decided to try somewhere new and was not happy with anything I ordered. Food didn’t taste fresh either, had a weird taste to everything I had.

I rarely write reviews, however I am so disappointed with Banzai! This was my 2nd visit. I was disappointed with my 1st visit. The Pork Chahan had barely any pork, I couldn’t even taste it, but the rice was good. I decided to try it again and pay for extra meat. This time the rice was horrible! It was so mush. Also, it still had very very little pork and once again I couldn't even taste the pork. Ugh!! Both Chopsticks Express and New China have better rice dishes with a fair amount of pork. Also, my phone order took 1 1/2 hours. I didn't mind and I assumed that they were very busy however when I arrived there were only 3 tables being occupied. Perhaps they had had a big rush before but it certainly didn't appear that way. I'm frustrated and disappointed enough to post this review.

I ordered online and was there early and they said it will be another 25 minutes. No problems, that is what the app said. To my surprise they completed in 10 minutes. They went above and beyond to complete my takeout order.

I get the teriyaki chicken kitchen plate every time and it doesn't disappoint. Huge portions and super delicious. I also get extra sauce to make it even more teriyaki-ey.

Disappointed with food quality. Ordered sesame chicken bento box. Sesame chicken was so dry I had to send it back The replacement was not as dry but was flavorless. Ordered a bento box to take out with pork tonkatsu. When I brought it home I just got plain pieces of pork instead of deep fried tonkatsu coating. Pork also was bland and tasteless. Will not return.
