Let me start by saying I never would have thought I'd see the day when I was giving this place a two star review. I've been hooked since the first time I came. Then they teamed up with Spider Monkey and started carrying this delicious peach cobbler so I was really hooked! To the point I was sometimes coming 2-3x a month. Up until yesterday when I called to place a to go order and was told they changed their menu. Whyyyyyyyy?! Seriously why mess up a good thing? I always got the half chicken plate in maple hot with greens and mac & cheese. And the fried cauliflower bites for an appetizer. The only thing they still have is the macaroni!!! OMG WHY?! I'm so disappointed. I really hope this is just an experiment.

I expected good eats, but WOW. The oysters were a flavor explosion, the shrimp were scrumptious, and the chicken sandwich was to die for. I'm extremely impressed, thank you!

This restaurant is a true culinary delight. The interior is elegant yet comfortable, with a warm lighting that creates a cozy atmosphere. I ordered their seafood platter, which was fresh and beautifully presented, and a glass of white wine. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and professional. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration. Prices are on the higher side but justified by the quality. Overall, a fantastic place for a memorable dining experience. I

This is a nice, chill place to hang out with friends, coworkers, and family alike. Their $2 happy hour oysters are a bargain!

We paid $6 for what was honestly the worst coleslaw I’ve ever had—completely bland and lacking any flavor. The chicken was disappointingly dry, and we ordered the Nashville HOT, but there was no heat at all. We spent $55 on a chicken sandwich, kids’ chicken strips, coleslaw, and a mimosa—not including the tip, which is expected despite the self-service setup (even for things like silverware and water).
That said, the ambiance was pleasant. The staff was friendly, and the dining area is cute and well-designed. I do agree with other reviewers, though—the music was way too loud, making it hard to enjoy the space.

I loved this place at one time. I live close by again and I was happy I could walk there. Times change. It’s gotten overpriced, and this time my gf and I were absolutely blown off by the guy monitoring the bar door. Just an absolute jerk for no reason. Thanks for the memories Bawk, never again.

Friendly staff. The food was cooked to order..hot and delicious.
$14 for an espresso martini that comes out of a machine. Don't bother.

Went here happy hour on a Friday afternoon. Not crowded, great prices, fast service. Honestly, this place surprised me, the chicken sandwich (with the maple sweet heat) was really really good! Definitely worth checking out. And the happy hour specials are definitely worth it!
I ordered the half chicken, Mac, salad, and muffin.
So the salad was great not complaints dressing was a nice thick Ceaser
The Mac was a little watery I prefer a thick/baked mac. I think the Mac could use a little more seasoning in my opinion with a thicker cheese sauce .
The chicken was good it needed a little more seasoning though . A good brine would really help the chicken with moisture and flavor. The chicken was not burnt or super dry so it was watched and fried with care.
The muffin was good no complaints there.
This place is kind of self service deal, it’s really nice on the inside and outside.
Wait time for the half chicken is 25min btw per the server.
If the name of the restaurant makes you feel like you are about to get hosed for a chicken sandwich, you would be correct. Expect to spend $20 or more per person, especially after tip, which they ask for even though it is counter service. Food took at least 40 minutes to arrive for only 2 people. We were not checked on once. The waffle was excellent but the chicken was overcooked, dry, stringy, and leathery in some parts. We were starving before ordering and didn't even finish it. Also the bread over hanged by like half an inch on the noticeably small piece of chicken for the sandwich. Oh, and the music started loud and got even louder for some reason after half an hour of waiting. We had to move outside or go deaf. Go to Hotboyz instead. It's also expensive but at least the chicken is good.
We had to wait over 30 minutes for just 2 items ordered that cost $50 total including tip for self service, despite no wait to order at the counter or for a table. We also decided to move outside since they cranked up the music loud indoors at noon for some reason.
The chicken sandwich was so small and the chicken dry, waffle fries cold and undercooked. My waffle was the only redeeming item, thick and fluffy with a really good butter on it.. But the chicken on top of it also tough and dry.
Bawk has a great vibe and look to it. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The food however, was so salty we couldn't finish any of it. I considered rinsing my chicken strips in water before eating another bite because they tasted as though they'd been dry rubbed with salt and then resulted after being fried. I loved the flavor and heat of the sauce, but even it was overpowered by the salt. We got mac n cheese and surprisingly it was just as salty. My daughter's chicken sandwich tasted as though it was also coated in salt. It's a shame too because the restaurant is cool, but I'm not sure I can ever trust the food again.
