Great neighborhood hangout. All the food was enjoyable and will return for the desserts. Awesome service.

The goal of a neighborhood spot is to make you feel like it's been there forever and that it's a real getaway. This place nails it. You wouldn't know this spot is in a strip mall. Drinks, service, bites are all on point.

First time here and loved it! My friend and I shared the special hanger steak sandwich and the jerk chicken sandwich. They were both very good and the mojitos were good too. So many other things I want to try too.

This place is very very good. We got the pernil, oxtail, citrus fennel salad. Very balanced and delicious meals with fresh ingredients. Finished off with the basque cheesecake with guava jam, it was so perfect, I keep thinking about it.

Caribbean restaurant in the greater Sac area. Food was tasty and had much of the Puerto Rican flavor one is looking for. The pork shoulder with rice and pigeon pees was great. The cocktails were above average and nicely complemented the food. Service was superb. The decor is OK and there are plenty of tables. The bar area seems big and with a good selection of spirits. Overall, will recommend to visit this place.

I am from the Caribbean and I am Cuban and Puerto Rican. I ordered side of white rice, Cuban beans, platano gnocchi, and vegetables doubles. It was underwhelming to say the least. What happened to the flavor and what is the soul of our carribean food. Every single thing was unflavored. I moved from New York City and was sooo excited to try it, but I got disappointed. Lastly, the mojito was weak and they used mint puree instead of actual mint. Also, please pay attention to the details when it comes to cleaning the restaurant.

Bodega is tucked in the corner of the shopping complex in the South area. I wanted to try this place out to see if it could be an option for my bday celebration. Love the bar and the bartenders! They really made us feel welcome. Good selection of liquor and beer. When the lights go on after dark, the vibes are especially fun and festive! We had the happy hour fries and they were tasty. I will order food next time, and it looked like other patrons were thrilled with their dishes. I would have liked it if they had a patio area. All in all, fun atmosphere and staff. We will definitely go back!

I love this place. This Puerto Rican food is both authentic and really good. Their cocktails are strong and the music is always on point ☝️. The owner, Rafael, is awesome to talk to and cares a lot about the quality of the food, service, atmosphere . . . the whole package. Great place!

I love this place, it’s just what Greenhaven and Sacramento needed. The food is delicious, cocktails refreshing and wine selection so good you can’t decide whether you want a cocktail or wine (the answer is get both!). The atmosphere is flirty enough for a date, but fun enough for family friendly crowds. As I type this I’m daydreaming about the mussels and chorizo… that broth! I’ve been multiple times and haven’t had a bad experience.Kid-friendliness: I brought my then 5 month old baby and husband and we had a great time!

Oh my goodness, it's a bar/ restaurant in a strip mall again, that my friends, just raved about, so we went to dinner...I had a soup, cause I was feeling a little under the weather, and it was OK, we also had mussels and the pulled pork...A pitcher of margaritas was consumed and something called a Paloma, with Tequila and a bottle of Grapefruit soda, no Grapefruit garnish or nuthin', and no lime or Grapefruit juice I. It, but still considering to be a Poloma, without the bang‼️Overall, I thought it was not that happening for a Saturday night there, and I kept getting this plywood wall vibe, of a bar I've been to in East Oakland, that I never wanted to go to...The bar seems like a nice place to hang out and make fun of, the place being in a strip mall, but I'm not getting my mind blown here, maybe next time when I sit at the bar alone, and figure this Bodega place out, and where there trying to go here, as a car pulls up with bright headlights, shining into the restaurant.

Went here on a Saturday night with my friends during the holidays for dinner. They had the entire place decked out in Christmas decorations which was very nice. Food was good. I had the jerk wings and the empanadas. Both were great. Holiday Drinks were well made. I will note on this night service was EXTREMELY slow. Now it could just because it was a Saturday night and supposedly they had some type of photo thing happening (although I didn't see any photo situation taking place) or maybe they were short staff that night. Whatever the case maybe, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because it happens, but just be aware on if you plan on going on a Saturday night just be prepared for a slower service.

I am WELL AWARE I am late to the Bodega Kitchen Cocktails party but dear god this place is fabulous!!! Mussels with chorizo and fries. I literally licked the bowl clean. The lemongrass flavor was outrageously good! I almost ordered a second bowl after tasting it and struggled to share with my husband. The jerk chicken wings- insane!!! The spices were so warm and well balanced. Probably the best jerk chicken I've ever had in Sacramento. My husband thought he didn't like Jerk chicken. Opinion changed. And the tripleta tacos? Visually unassuming but packed a flavor punch! It was a combo of chicken thigh meat, pork shoulder and nacho cheese. Yum!! Delicious mojitos to wash it down. So damn good. Oh and happy hour prices on New Year's Day? Yes please!! Our server was Fallon. She was great! We asked her if we ordered enough and she said yes and saved us from over ordering. She gave great suggestions and clearly knew the menu.
