Butcher & Barrel Reviews
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Every course was exceptional, and the service was truly outstanding. Our server went above and beyond—gracefully and patiently managing a party of seventeen, from keeping the kids happy to ensuring cocktails flowed seamlessly between multiple courses. She made us feel completely taken care of, with no request too big or small.

Amazing food! Best service; super attentive owners.
Such a phenomenal meal at @butcherandbarrelsac after a great @sacspirit case earlier today! The food was perfect, tasty, and filling! From the appetizer to dessert we were nothing but happy! Omg that crème brûlée! 🍮 we were greeted immediately and cheerfully, our server, Mykayla was so bubbly, attentive and kind… and even got to chat with the owner, Kevin! This place is top notch while also being very approachable. All types of diners from parties, birthdays, couples...read full review

Butcher & Barrel offers delicious food with popular dishes like shrimp scampi and crème brûlée. The service is often praised as exceptional, and reservations help guests get seated quickly. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that makes guests feel cared for. The restaurant has a cozy ambiance, with a hostess, waiters, and a sommelier who all seem to enjoy working there. The menu features favorites like the Butchers Burger, considered by some to be one of the best burgers ever, and crab cakes that are highly praised for being flavorful and amazing. Guests enjoy sharing the Block and Barrel Board, which includes cheese, meats, olives, fruits, crostini, and sweet toppings. The drinks list is extensive, offering many options to complement the meal. The restaurant is conveniently located near other popular spots in downtown, making it a good choice for date nights or nights out with friends. The seasonal menu changes regularly, so there’s always something new and fresh for returning visitors. It can be pricey, but the food’s flavor and overall experience make it worth it. Special menus are available for occasions like Mother’s Day, and the staff’s attentive service makes every visit memorable. Some minor issues, like the timing of appetizer and entrée service, do not take away from the overall quality, and guests appreciate the great Happy Hour spread.
Recent reviews highlight a few small issues, such as an unexpected 4% service charge that was later removed after explanation. Celebrations like birthdays are made special, with beautiful table settings, a birthday note, and attentive staff checking in. The cocktails and wine selection are good, and starters like Caesar salad and French onion soup receive praise. Main courses, including NY strip steaks with mushrooms and macaroni and cheese, are described as delicious, and desserts like decadent chocolate cake and dessert wine leave a lasting impression. The bar and happy hour menu are also appreciated, encouraging guests to return. Overall, guests enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, great food, and attentive service, making Butcher & Barrel a popular spot for special occasions and regular outings.
