Best Happy Hour in Sacramento! Delicious food and great drinks at a reasonable price. Service was quick and efficient.

Great experience!! Booking through opentable was easy and simple, checking in at the restaurant was great. Service was really good the server spoke both spanish and english always a plus when interacting with the hispanic community! We reserved a table of 8 and it was in a great spot, food was delicious and fast, overall really happy with the restaurant. Only downside I would say is parking but thats always expected haha.

Zócalo Midtown has such a great vibe. It's right in the heart of Midtown Sacramento, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and boutiques that keep the area lively—especially on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with warm mood lighting and lush greenery that create an inviting atmosphere for both indoor and outdoor dining (and yes, they have outdoor heaters). The hosts were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. I loved the complimentary warm tortilla chips, especially with the black bean dip—so good. For dinner, I ordered the Salmon Bowl, which was absolutely delicious and something I'll be coming back for. I also tried a steak taco, and everything was full of flavor and presented beautifully. My wife enjoyed an espresso martini—something not every restaurant gets right—and Zócalo nailed it. Because it was her birthday, the staff surprised her with a complimentary cream-filled birthday churro with ice cream to share. The waiters even gathered to sing Happy Birthday loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. They did this for several guests throughout the night, adding to a festive, fun atmosphere. Overall, Zócalo Midtown delivered a wonderful dining experience—great food, great service, and a lively ambience. We'll definitely be back.

visited Centro Cocina Mexicana here in Sacramento, and the food was delicious from start to finish.
My tacos al pastor were juicy and savory, with just the right hint of pineapple sweetness. The refried beans on the side were rich and flavorful, topped with creamy cotija cheese that made every bite even better.
The enchiladas were a standout -- the sauce had amazing depth without being overly bitter like some places make it. The rice and beans had that comforting, home-cooked taste that instantly reminded me of my family gatherings. Every bite felt like a warm reminder of my mom's cooking, and it made the whole meal joyful.
The ambience is warm, casual, and inviting - the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed lunch or a special dinner with friends and family.
Shoutout to our amazing waiter who kept our sodas refilled and constantly checked in on us, making our experience so welcoming. And a big thank you to the hardworking chefs in the back -- especially Chef Mathew for the incredible cuisine.
Centro Cocina Mexicana definitely delivered both in flavor and in heart. I'll be coming back for sure.

On the pricey side but tasty. Wish they had homemade tortillas at these prices. The carne asada was not overdone. A large portion of meat. Salsa was not spicy, good smoky flavor. Nice juicy chunks of mushrooms. Overall good food a bit different from the usual Mexican offerings.

Went to what used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants tonight, Centro cocina on 28th and J street.
Sat down, got our menus and ordered a margarita. Asked our server for some chips and salsa and were informed they now charge for them…$4.00 I declined. Mentioned most Mexican restaurants that I frequent bring them out at no charge.
$13.00 margarita was good.. they do use fresh squeezed limes and good tequila.
We both ordered TACOS Y BURRITOS
SERVED WITH RICE & CHOICE OF BEANS , 2 each of their tacos or burritos.
Finished our meal and got the bill.
They added 3% to provide quality employee programs and benefits, as well as .95% SBID tax ????
Parking = $4.20 …good luck trying to figure out how to pay without the app.
All in all and close to $80.00 later with tip I won't be going back to any restaurant in midtown.
