Was pleasantly surprised with the Sunday buffet. There was a large variety of food to try and the appetizer pancakes were wonderful. Staff were attentive and sang a zippy birthday song for my husband. I would go back though the price was $40 each.
The food and ambience were great but the service could have been a bit faster as we sat there for quite a while waiting for our food.
This visit was extremely underwhelming and dissatisfying. Our food was cold, hard, and overall not good. We were sat far in the back and were rarely checked on. Staff was not attentive at all. We Did not even get refills on water. I will not be returning.
We were disappointed with Chevy's. We had a reservation for 3 people at 4:30 and arrived to many families waiting for tables. Most were walk-ins. I was surprised when 5 minutes later they sat 3 groups of 4 people at tables that were walk-ins. The reservation was made because we had an event to attend after the dinner, so we were limited on time. We finally were seated at 4:45 and that was after I went to hostess and questioned why she was discussing seating other walk-ins that had arrived after us. The service we had from our waiter was good. He was very polite and brought our food promptly. We were disappointed at the quantity of the food. The taco size was very small, the size you would see at a free appetizers during cocktail hour. Do not expect a full size taco. It is approximately 1/3 the size. We were offered dessert, but because they sat us late, we did not have time to include it. Too bad because the desserts looked good. Their loss, it could of been a few more dollars in their pocket.
Server forgot two dishes. Our dishes came out when the other 3 finished. She had to be reminded to bring our drinks and napkins and food. She was nice though, but overall experience could have been better. The patio has a nice view
Our food came out and was just warm. all our rice was dry. many of us got whole beans instead of the refried we ordered. Shrimp tasted like it was boiled and had no flavor. the steak fajitas were dry and overcooked. Portions were small. the carnitas was spread so thin to look like more. Tortillas were fresh but hardly warm. The guac was good. The salsa was good. 2 of the potato chips baskets had such small pieces of chips you couldn't really dip. The iced tea was wonderful. Server never came by to check on us after the food was delivered. We needed refills for about 20 minutes and finally flagged someone down. They came back out when we were practically done eating. Many of us had been there in the months past with some of the same issues, so none of us will be returning. For the amount of $$ we paid for the meals and what we got, absolutely not worth it.
Short staffed, waitress overwhelmed and forgot several items we requested. Management needs to cross train to better utilize hostesses to assist in serving or clearing dishes. There were three hostesses mostly just standing at front entry. Music was unbearably loud at entryway causing the hostesses and guests to speak very loudly or strain to hear. Turn down the front speaker at the entry.
Although we had reservations, we were seated right away. However, we waited 30 to 45 minutes to place our order, and our drinks took at least 30 minutes to arrive before we even thought about ordering a meal. When we finally received our tortilla soups, they had barely any chicken or tortilla, just a lot of broth and avocados. This was not the type of tortilla soup we were used to, and it was extremely salty, so we had to send it back. At the same time we received our soups, our main courses arrived as well, despite our request to the waitress not to bring them out together. When I voiced my concerns about the food order and the long wait, I reminded her not to bring the soups with the main dishes, but she did anyway. It was difficult not to leave a tip, as the main courses were truly delicious. However, overall, we were disappointed due to the inconsistencies with our order and the timing of everything, which was the primary issue we encountered.
We had a great time with great food. It was super busy so our server was running around crazy but she did her best.
Our server was all over the place. She had dropped 4 glasses of water from the table behind us & water spilled over next to our table. She didn't even acknowledge if we got wet or not. She took forever to bring our drinks to our table. Our drinks were sitting out because when we received it, they were already watered down. Our food took over. It was just a bad experience overall. Great outdoor dining. The river was next to us & the breeze was really nice.

Awesome service. Bummed when I got my fajita plate to see they are definitely skimping on the onions and bell peppers. Probably had 4 very thin (less than half an inch) slices of each.
You're wondering why I would give a Chevy's 5 star as the food is consistently the same. The views, the service and overall vibes... Company may also be a contributor. The Chevy's near our place in San Jose closed a few years back and I miss their fajita combo platter and was so happy to come visit friends and family in Sacramento and get what I've missed at a waterfront setting. Will admit they seemed a little understaffed, but appreciated that the staff were hustling to meet everybody's needs with a smile. In my opinion the service, food and views earned it a five star. Please understand I am not comparing it to higher end restaurants but taking it for what it is.
I will be back . Enjoyed the food and service . Reservation was prompt and we had no wait for our table of 5 .
When I made the reservation it did not indicate that there would be a mandatory price fix meal at $50 per person. The wait staff and manager used severe guilt tactics when I requested to order off the menu. The table they sat us at was right in front of the buffet line and people kept bumping my sons chairs. The layout was tight and not easy to maneuver. To top it off, the food was not good. Lastly, the "Father's Day" $10 off coupon was only good for the day after Father's Day.
The food was terrible. I got a cheese enchilada. It was cold and the cheese inside was not melted. I asked the waitress to take it back and have them melt the cheese. She brought me a new one and it was the same way.
