Good pastry and coffee, little too much hair dye and nose rings.

This is a very comfortable coffee shop. The coffee is excellent and there is a nice selection of fresh pastries and sandwiches. The local East Sac neighborhood newspaper is always available. Staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. Outdoor seating is available.

The food is amazing. The service is decent. The atmosphere is not conducive to hanging out like it used to be. Its either the punk rock guy's shift or they are banging the bareista stuff around to the point of being unbearable. Its like a contest of who can be the loudest barista. The thing they bang the espresso on is loud af and they hit it like three to five times for every single ear shattering coffee drink. I think its so no one camps out on their laptop but thats why i used to come here, to camp out and spend money. Its just too loud to concentrate ever, even in the afternoons now. You cant even talk. Great for get and go. Best food around. Just not a cool hangout anymore if you want to work or read or even just chat. No winners in the barista noise championships. Ps: putting a piece of pipe insulation on the banger thingy would help make it less like a shotgun going off inside every 120 seconds. Or using a trash can. Or just emptying the device like a normal human. They are knocking the stuffing off every time.

Good variety of grab & go food, snacks & and pastries. I love the strawberry white chocolate score, I've been getting it for years! I ordered a cold brew coffee with vanilla & added a splash of half & half. Good stuff!!!

Prices have doubled and quality has gone down. What used to be a great $3.25 cappuccino is now $6+. Over-roasted burnt espresso beans

This great little cafe is a refreshing change in a sea of bland franchises. They have a nice selection of high-quality bakery items at reasonable prices and fun, eclectic environment- just what we look for in a cafe.
Unfortunately, the baristas have adopted the annoying habit of slamming the espresso portafilter two times against the metal grounds bin to clear the spent espresso. The loud sound is extremely disruptive to an otherwise pleasant environment. It can happen 20+ time in a half hour. Do they no longer hear it? Do they not see the customers cringe?
Having spent my time behind the bar - and in plenty of cafes around the world- I know it doesn’t have to be done like that. Train your people or modify that station. Break that lazy habit!

It was our first time here today, A pricy menu for a so so coffee/food quality. In my opinion coffee and pastry taste & quality is at Starbucks level. It’s a nice local coffee shop though. I suggest the young barista lady to be more welcoming, it doesn’t hurt if you add a small smile (even fake) while getting customer orders. If someone is having a bad day it shouldn’t allow them so show their anger at the customers!

5/5 stars for this coffee shop, I love their drinks and their pastries are so worth it to buy. My kids love coming again and again here. Great job guys!
Can a cup of coffee change your life? Maybe not, but it can make your whole day better, if it's a great cup of coffee. This is truly outstanding coffee. After not having been here for years (no excuse}, someone at work brought me a cup of dark roast, and it was like the skies clearing and angels singing! I drank it black, which I never ever do. TRY THE DARK ROAST.Life is too short for mediocre coffee. You owe it to yourself to get the best. The atmosphere and vibe is laid back, the staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, and the tables don't wobble.
