The Christmas decorations were amazing—super festive and fun. Sitting outside by the Sacramento River with heaters and holiday lights was really nice. My family enjoyed the food, but as a vegetarian there weren't many options, so I ordered a BLT without bacon. The French fries were excellent. I hope they add more vegetarian options to the menu, because I'd come back throughout the year if I knew there were more choices. The only downside was that the Christmas cocktail menu wasn't ready yet, even though it was already December 10.

Bartender gave us one round of drinks and never revisited us after almost 40 minutes. Never got to order the food we made reservations for. Definitely would not come back.

We orderd 2 turkey meal, watever said in their meal - 1/2 of it was missing.nobody said anithng until we worked to the checkout.. no communication at all-i had to say so at the checkout and than the guy said ok let me get u a manager...the manager came... with no apology nothng n said ok il give u off for the clam chowder that we orderd...they should have atleast communicated with us when we were ordering or even when they served.. that shows if i didnt said nothing they would have charged me $90 for just half the serve...embarrassing

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner (2025) here and it could not have been more perfect. Our server was very attentive. Ambiance seated next to the river was beautiful. Good music playing and not too loud. Food was very good, but we only chose from their Thanksgiving menu. I assume their other offerings are equally as good.

This is our go to place in Sacramento! The first time we ever stepped foot into this establishment, we fell in-love! Then we had their food and they are amazing! We always order the tempura green beans and always take visiting family and friends.

Crawdads on the River is an awesome venue. They have live music on the weekends. The fact you're setting on the Sacramento River gives you awesome views. You can dock your boat along side too. This is simply an extremely cool place. Staff here are well trained and very attentive to your needs.

Great Service, Great Food, & Great Atmosphere. Clam Chowder soup is a must-have...... Awesome flavor & the Bacon on top puts it over the edge! Fish & Chips comes with 4 healthy sized filets which is a perfect portion.

It was a perfect day to sit by the river and have lunch, the calamari was perfect with a nice aioli and red sauce to dip into. We also had the chicken sandwich, with avocado, bacon and melted cheese on a soft roll, so good! Our server Jordan took great care of us, we even saw a seal swimming in the river🦭‼️

Came on Saturday around 3:45 p.m. with my husband. The place was busy, and both the host and server were working really hard. The host even helped run food! My husband decided to make a reservation for 4:15 p.m. so we could sit outside by the riverfront. The vibe was pretty casual, kind of like a bar where you can catch a game near the counter. Occasionally, you could smell a bit of gas from the boat motors, but it didn’t last long. The food was okay, but the service was amazing.

I recently celebrated my birthday at Crawdads on the River, and it was such a great experience! The atmosphere was full of good energy, and the riverfront view created the perfect vibe for a fun night out. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the evening even more enjoyable. I have to mention the Cajun pasta—it was absolutely amazing! The flavor was rich and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice. It's definitely one of the best Cajun dishes I've had in a long time. Overall, it was the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Great food, great ambience, and great people. I'll definitely be coming back soon!

This is the most beautiful place to grab some excellent seafood! The steaming bowl of clams, shrimp, mussels and cod was amazing! I would recommend going just before sunset the view is incredible! Doesn’t get any better then Crawdads by the river! Will return!

Very nice hidden gem. Great location, overseeing Sacramento river. Indoor and outdoor seatings available. A space for rent for event with stage and its own bar. Restrooms are clean.
Parking is a bit narrow between cars. Be careful if wearing high heels as it has a bit stairs to go down from parking lot to the front door of the restaurant.
