Great atmosphere, genuine bread oven in plain sight, wonderful staff, no complaints!
Their chicken bowl is a must have!!
My partner and I are obsessed with their kabob - both chicken and beef. But my partner prefers the chicken. The lentil soup was also good.
Their hot chai is probably the best I have ever had in a long time. Highly, highly recommend!! Don’t skip this.
I would defo come back to try other dishes especially their rose ice cream (which was recommended by their staff)
Our waiter was extremely warm and nice! Like genuinely nice!
This place has gone downhill. Every time I eat here the service gets worse, the food
Is inconsistent and it’s no longer sanitary.
Just ordered to go and the Kebob was burned, the eggplant delight didn’t taste the same and the person who handled the bread licked their finger first to take a sheet Of paper to wrap the bread with it.
I had my employee pick up the food for me and when I called to inform them it’s burned, the woman on the phone put me on hold and ignored me. Someone else picked up minutes later to use the phone not to even address me. I told him my issue and he also seemed annoyed and just said bring it back and hanged up.
By far, the older woman that works there
And her daughter are some of the worst people I witnessed in customer service. The older woman even demands tips before paying.
I’ve been coming here for 20 years and I know what the food tastes like. If the two older gentleman’s are not there I wouldn’t touch this place. One in the front and one in the kitchen.
There ate better choices I don't recommend it.
A highly recommended restaurant with great Persian cuisine. Koobide kabab and shish Leek lamb are great. Rice is good. Kashk bademjoon is good. Overall great and delicious experience. I am Persian, trust 🙂
We were visiting Sacremento and happened to be in the neighborhood. We went for late lunch on 9/30/2024. We order two Koobedah combos and one lamb Shank. Everything was Halal and excellent with great service. Don’t forget to order black tea.

Famous Kabob is the Raffi's of Sacramento. The barg, koobideh, and jujee kabob were all excellent - perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The portion sizes were excellent. I enjoyed the complimentary sabzi, feta, and bread. The kashkebademjoon was okay. Will try the masomousir next time. The ice cream to share was excellent. Extremely friendly staff - you can tell there are a lot of returning customers who regularly dine here and I may become one of them. Definitely will come again and would highly recommend for good traditional Persian food.

The place is very outdated. Employees were polite and gave good service however food was not good at all. Koobideh felt like had residual water in it and outside was burnt. Koobide did not taste good at all. Chicken thigh was OK but the seasoning was not authentic chicken kabob seasoning. It had some kind of Afghan seasoning taste to it. The flat meat of soltani was sooo thin that I don't think it was on a skewers. Unfortunately will not return or recommend anyone to come here. lack of quality!

What makes this place five star besides the service is the wonderful flavor of their food. Their hummus is sublime ? and their koobideh is juicy & flavorful. The menu is varied but not too big with all the classics with wonderful portions. Superfresh ingredients. While it looks like a small restaurant from the outside it is actually quite large and can hold a good group size for a party.

Delicious Persian food. We dined at Famous Kabob several times. The Kabob Berg (grilled beef) and Kabob Bar-reh (lamb) are excellent. They come with fluffy basmati rice, which you can substitute with salad. The Cheloe Mahechi (lamb shank) and the Zereshk polo braised chicken are very good. They have excellent ice cream, unfortunately they didn't have last time we were there. The Baklava is not good. One of the servers (it seems he has been there a while) is not very polite, however another server came by and chatted with us. The decor can us a face lift. Best Persian cuisine in the area. Highly recommended.
Parking: Next to the restaurant.

Nice people working there but I was not happy with the food taste.
I have been in this place before and I liked it but this time it was not a pleasant experience especially I was charged extra 18$ for a skewer and the waiter never mentioned that

The food is good but overpriced. I was charged extra 18$ for extra skewer and the most ironic part is that the waiter never mentioned anything about it
