My husband and I had a great date night dinner at Frog & Slim. Ambience is great- perfect sound level on jazz music to enjoy but still maintain private conversations. Our server- Ashely was great: attentive, friendly and great recommendations. Food was amazing from a surprising and bright fennel that made the beet salad pop, to the macadamia crusted lamb that was tender and cooked perfectly to the decadent bread pudding for dessert. Start to finish an amazing meal
The menu offers a great selection of creative plates. The service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming vibe of the place. Frog and Slim is a fantastic spot to enjoy a delicious, thoughtfully prepared meal.

Usually when I’m in a new town, I check Yelp to see which restaurants in my area have the highest reviews. And they have to be robust enough for me to take their ratings seriously (ex. A spot with 2 reviews that’s rated 5 stars vs. a place that has 4.5 stars and over 500 reviews. I’ll choose the spot with more reviews).
Not only does Frog & Slim have almost 600 reviews, but they were rated over 4.5 stars, the photos of the dishes and the ambiance intrigued me. Then when I looked at the full menu, the drinks sounded so interesting and unique. I found myself already planning out my meal.
I arrived on a Tuesday night and there was a good crowd but no wait. Since I was alone, I opted for the bar. And it was one of those lit up counters, very elegant. Kimberly greeted me right away and she was so warm & friendly. We hit it off right away. Then I asked for recommendations and settled on the rack of lamb with celery puree and asparagus. WOW 🤩 I had two cocktails that were delicious, loved them both, and the maple bread pudding was heavenly.
You probably won’t have any leftovers - their potions are just the right size. If you have a healthy appetite, you may want to start with an appetizer.
Two drinks, my entree, and dessert set me back about $120. There are entrees that cost a bit less, but I splurged on the drinks because there were a couple that were calling my name. And they didn’t disappoint.
I can’t wait to go back! I’m in Sacramento every few months and I’ll have to make sure to visit again. I also met the owner, Robert, during my meal. He checked in with everyone to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Overall the perfect dining experience. Cheers!

Delicious vegan dishes during the vegan chef challenge this year. I wish the they had more vegetarian options in their regular menu, which is rather meat heavy.

The girl that sat us was not all the great ask for a booth said none was available. Had a reservation was a bit early but there was 3 booth open still. Sat us us down to a regular table but the host not sure was his name was but very friendly. He had a no problem sitting us at a booth so was a little confused about that. I had order the rack of lamb and ask if they can cook a little bit longer so no pink in the lamb. The waitress who sat us in the when we first came said that the chief was unable to do that that it will get tough. But after was finished the same manager that came and sat us in the booth said ya we could have cooked the lamb a bit longer so no pink in the lamb. Was a bit confused ask why the waitress said no and he said yes. He said that is a simple request. Was not sure who was my waiter cause delt with 3 other waitress and 1 manager. Overall and not a bad place.

The food was very good; however, the ambiance left a little to be desired. The outside area looked nice, but we dined inside. The canned lighting seemed recycled from the previous restaurants that died there, and felt a bit harsh and unromantic. Not the vibe we thought the place would have. The food was good. Our server was terrible - she wasn't rude, but she couldn't have cared less about us. The host was wonderful, friendly and he was actually the one who did the initial check on us after our food arrived. We went here for a special occasion but wouldn't go back - too many other great options around.
Always a great experience! Lovely wait staff and the kitchen knows what they are doing! The pork shank is like science meets art.
Best burger in town + exceptional service always 👏🏼

We had a lovely Thursday lunch at Frog and Slim. My friend enjoyed a delicious and creative gin craft cocktail. I enjoyed their Sauvignon blanc by the glass selection. We ordered the steak sandwich and the cauliflower-artichoke sandwich. Both were excellent and served with shoestring fries. Our waitress had a warm and delightful personality and she was very professional. The restaurant has booths and tables, nice lighting, lots of windows; the interior design presents a light industrial vibe. Will definitely return for lunch and plan to try their dinner.
