This is easily one of the best wine bars in town. This natural wine bar is one of my go-to recommendations because of their easy to understand, yet informative approach to wine. The owner, Bennett, is down to earth and welcoming. He has done an amazing job of selecting and training staff to spread the good, unpretentious vibes of wine. From tasting events, to music to 14 wines by the glass - this place is a vibe! I haven’t been bu the check out the expanded menu, but I haven’t had a food item I haven’t liked from the menu. Even if you aren’t hungry - get the olives! Just do it! Cheers to a good wine bar run by good people. Now that’s good news to write home about. :)Kid-friendliness: I’ve brought everyone from my bestie, to parents to 5 month old baby. Everyone is welcome!

One of the best Caesar salads I've ever had. And their wine selections are amazing! I've been here for trivia a couple of nights and it was really fun! Definitely one of my favorite wine bars in Sac

I love this place! Great vibes and ambiance, delicious wines, and super friendly staff. My favorite thing to do is their "blind flights", where the server picks three wines off their menu to serve you and you have to guess which ones they are based on the menu's descriptions. If you get them all (I have not), the flight is free! They've also got a nice little wine-and-fancy-wine-pairable-goodies market inside, including craft non-wine and non-alcoholic options. My boyfriend isn't a wine guy and he always likes getting their vermouth flights when we go.I'm also a member of their monthly wine club, which I'd recommend! Every wine they pick is great, and the super friendly owner, Bennett, delivers some fun and interesting info about the wines he selects with light-hearted writeups that I always enjoy reading.Stop by! It's so great!

A friend recommended this place so I decided to check it out and woooow.. chefs kisses. I don't remember what my bartender's name was but she was a cutesy girl from Roseville who owns four cats and was wearing a cat sweater. She has great customer service! Her energy automatically made me feel welcomed and she greeted me right away. She was able to give me wine recommendations (orange wine is my new obsession). The appetizers are huge! I ordered the bread thinking I'd get a lil slice but they sent out a whole loaf! It made great road trip food for later. 10/10 recommend and going to take my mom next time I'm in town. Such good vibes, and pretty decor. Was pleasantly surprised to see an old newspaper stand in the bathroom as well.

When I say I love this place, I mean I LOVE this place. Good News is the perfect neighborhood wine bar and bottle shop. Cute, fun place to take friends and family? Check. Great bottle shop selection to pop in for a to go bottle after work? Check. Great snackies? Check. Perfect place to grab some bubbles and the best lox bagel after shopping at the farmers market? Check. The most welcoming and friendly staff in pretty much the whole universe? Check! We live 3 blocks away, and legend has it that I remarked that I wished we lived closer. This place is the bee’s knees. Check them out, you won’t regret it. Cheers!

Good News is my local spot I hang out the most and it has really enriched my life. I always know that they will be pouring something delicious. The owner Bennett is welcoming and knowledgeable about wine and truly wants this to be a spot for everyone to the beer drinker to the wine-obsessed. It's great for a group, or a date, or you can sit at the bar and have a glass by yourself and have just as much fun chatting with the staff.

Fantastic wine bar in Sacramento midtown. Perfect for a solo dinner at the bar. Service was wonderful. Atmosphere casual and sophisticated without any touches of stuffiness. Great list of wines by the half and full glass, including bubbles, white, orange, and red. Plus vermouth! Wines were global and leaned towards the natural and interesting. I had a great sparkler from the Loire, a funky Eastern European white, and a lovely grenache from Lodi, CA. Appealing food menu--salads, sandwiches, some heavier fare, and tinned fish. My platter of tinned sardines, olives, pickles, chips, and bread was totally perfect. Great spot. Excited to return when in the area!

Hopping from wine bar to wine bar, we found ourselves at Good News Wine! This place had a smooth vibe with a spicy menu to match. The selection was def something to notice compared to others around town. Their bites look scrumptious too. Check them out!

This place is amazing. Low-key, good wine and kid friendly. We’ve been about 5 times since moving to the area and what a gem! Amazing curated natural wine list and such a cute store. Shop for your wine here!

First time here. Came here yesterday afternoon looking for a place to just relax and have a drink. Server kept interrupting us. Felt rushed to leave. BEWARE, they do forced gratuity 15% regardless of how good or bad the service is.Will not be coming back.

I have been following their instagram account for a few months - I just moved to Sacramento and I'm trying to find new places for a small bites and such. It was unfortunately a disappointing experience... The service was slow and the 18% gratuity for a party of 1 and slow service was not understandable. The food combo was good deal for the amount of food, $20 for two generous pizza squares and a huge kale salad. The ambiance was so so - There was a couple across from me with a dog and their dog rested in the middle of the walkway. It wasn't clear if the dog was a on a leash, and I don't like when it's assumed that everyone is comfortable with dogs. The parking lot across the street charged me $10 and unfortunately the staff didn't know how to pay for the parking. It turned out to be a overly expensive outing, thanks to automatic %18 gratuity and overpriced parking. Avoid the parking lot and maybe tell the waitress you're ready to order as soon as your seated if you already know what you're having! Best of luck!!!

Great spot to get a glass of wine.

Forced gratuity for mediocre service is really disappointing. Ordered a blind flight and no one explained what it was. The bagel pop up was great, but not sure $6+18% gratuity+tax is a fair value.

I've been here over a dozen since it opened, one of the first people to come actually. I have LOVED seeing it grow into what it is today. Amazing wines, bites, and love the community aspect they have always embodied. Cute interior and the friendliest staff. One of my favorite wine bars in sacramento. Definitely give it a try, you won't regret it!

Good news wine is pretty good. Was in there on a Saturday morning and was able to enjoy their bagel pop-up.While the atmosphere and food are pretty good, my frustration lies with their gratuity policy. When you pay, he flips around the iPad and says “An 18% gratuity policy is automatically included.” What’s included in this policy?a. Clearing items left by the previous customer? Nope. I had to bus my own table.b. Wiping down the table so it’s not dirty? Nope. Had to go in and ask for a rag to wipe down my own table. Host didn’t even offer to have someone come out and wipe it down for me.c. Can I refill that water for you? Nope. Get your own water.d. Need utensils for your food? Go get it yourself.e. Are you enjoying you food? Nope. We don’t care. Eat and leave.I get it. It was a busy farmers market Saturday morning. If you’re going to force an 18% gratuity on me, a least do something for it.
