Goodside coffee with no good service. Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t good let’s just there. The staff seemed annoyed, after my friend ask to pay for a shot of espresso to add to her drink the women said she needed to pay for it so my friend went over to do so but was told it was fine and didn’t need to by the cashier…as we were walking out another worker ran outside after us and shouted that we still needed to pay for the shot, we informed him what the cashier said to us and walked off. This action should have been avoided if he would’ve just asked the cashier if we paid or not. I will happily pay for quality service and a good atmosphere but Goodside coffee isn’t going to be one of them.

Service declines when highly busy and never have enough places to sit. Good coffee though

We visited this coffee shop and had a great experience. There’s plenty of street parking and the space inside is spacious and welcoming.
They use beans from Cat & Cloud, which made the coffee stand out in both flavor and quality. We ordered bagels, a pastry, and two lattes — the vanilla rose and the honey lavender. The staff kindly reheated the pastry, which made it even better. Both lattes were smooth, aromatic, and not overly sweet.
The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall good vibe of the place.
The bagels and cream cheese here are immaculate. My mocha was great, no complaints. The dishes were clean and so was the space. The staff were super friendly, too.
My only complaint with this cafe is that the menu is printed in small print right by the register, so there's no way to find what you want until you're first in line. It's become in issue in Sacramento that so many cafes do tiny sheets of paper for their menu because it prioritizes aesthetic over function. It slows the line when people can't figure out what they want, and it is an accessibility issue for those with visual impairments. Once you notice this phenomenon in Sacramento, you'll have a hard time looking past it.

Lovely atmosphere, good WiFi and almost always has seating. Drinks are good, not great. And I wish they had more vegan food options.
A friend recommended the mint matcha, which was on their winter menu, and it was amazing. I came back today and tried the honey lavender latte, which was even better! I love the space and will be back again to support.
Nice little shop, wasn’t busy at 8:30 on a Saturday. Nice place to go

Amazing espresso, served right. I also had a lavender latte. The lavender is not overpowering. A bit on the sweet side if you don't customize it, but pleasant nevertheless.
100/10 experience stopped by to try the mint matcha and gf got the vanilla latte , mint matcha was so refreshing and tasted amazing untill the end ! Hospitality was so great too !
Owner staff and everyone in the room had a smile on there face and had a very nice attitude, i ended up getting the in house lemonade and mint matcha which tasted so refreshing 🔥 had a great first time stopping by good side and will definitely be stopping by again and recommending others to stop by aswell !

I've been going here periodically through the years. From the pastries and that amazing breakfast egg sandwich, to the fun staff. I genuinely like the design of the shop as well. I usually get one of their freaking delicious cappuccinos or try a seasonal flavor and sometimes I buy a few bags of whole bean coffee and a gift card or two. It's convenient with a good wifi connection and the location is not far off but not right in the middle of the center of downtown. I have recommended Goodside to coworkers, family and my friends. I took the two sales directors from my work, and they tried seasonal drinks and loved them. Ok, so it's not just me lol. I'll continue popping up here in the future 😊
Owner needs to take a training on hospitality
i have visited this cafe twice in the past week with my girlfriend. the first time was a very enjoyable experience, it did take a while for our drinks to come out but that seemed to be because they were understaffed.
we decided to return yesterday because we enjoyed our coffee and food and goodside is walking distance from our home.
we walked in and were greeted with a scowl from a man who i have since learned is the owner. my girlfriend and i are nice and order our drinks and my girlfriend asks to add a syrup to their drink. the owner pulls a face uglier than the one already sitting there, so my girlfriend, kind as they are, says “its really good! it tastes like pie!!” the owner pulls another ugly face and says “im sorry there is no way that tastes good” this obviously hurt my girlfriends feelings, and we had to sit outside because the comment made them cry. you never know what someone is going through, we have had several deaths of family members in the past few months. after i went inside to collect my drinks, the owner was pouring the shots as slowly as he could into our drinks and then stopped in the middle of the floor to talk to a guest while holding my drinks. he could see that i was frustrated and instead of trying to amend the situation, he tried to make me more frustrated. this is not how customers should be treated. as a service worker, i should have known immediately that this cockalorum was the owner, because if an employee were to act this way, they wouldnt be an employee anymore. the employees seem very nice.
the only reason this business is failing is because of the owner. point blank. because of our experience, my girlfriend and i will not be returning.
The owner puts on an ugly face for customers, his demeanor makes his coffee taste just as ugly
I passed by and was just on the call with my wife, talked for about 5 minutes, before that my wife and I went to another place bought cold tea and sat on chairs outside, I talked on the phone all this time and planned to order coffee after the conversation, a man came up to me and said that these places were only for visitors, I had to interrupt the call and answer him that I would buy coffee a little later, when I agreed, the call continued for another 10 minutes, after that he came up and demonstratively began to stand opposite my wife, she had to get up to go to the side, he began to correct the chairs, while the rest of the places Outside were absolutely free and empty, after I finished the call, I approached him, asked if the owner of the place, to which I received an affirmative answer. After that, I told him that it was absolutely unprofessional to drive people out, he told me that it was not professional, that if you come with someone else’s drink and sit outside. As a person who works with customer service, I consider it an absolute marasm, unfortunately, all the desire to buy coffee there has completely disappeared.
