BLATANT DISCRIMINATION — AVOID THIS PLACE.
I stopped in intending to try their breakfast, but before ordering I stepped in line to use the restroom. While waiting, a Caucasian man in a baseball cap (apparently the owner) came all the way from behind the counter specifically to confront me and announce loudly, in front of everyone that the restroom was “only for paying customers.” His tone was hostile, completely unnecessary, and clearly directed at me in a way that felt aggressive and humiliating. What made this even more disturbing is that the Caucasian woman standing directly behind me, who also had not ordered, was not approached, questioned, or spoken to at all. As the only person of color in line, this felt unmistakably like racial profiling and selective enforcement of their so-called “policy.” No one should have to experience that kind of treatment simply for walking into an establishment. If you value respect, equality, and basic human decency, take your money somewhere that treats all customers with dignity, not just the ones they choose.

Coffee was delicious we had a mocha and dirty chai. Food was ok, I had the New Yorker sandwich, the bagel felt hard and lacked flavor. Cream cheese bagel was good.

Local coffee shop with space to work: 8 tables (3 4-top, 5 2-top) to sit. Variety of plants, some art, nice atmosphere / music playlist. Small food offering with baked goods and bagels (New Yorker bagel pictured was ok / greasy).

What a nice treat that once I park in downtown, this is my first stop on my way to work! I was in and out quick and didn't try the food which is why I didn't give full stars but I'll definitely be back.

Goodside Coffee name is fitting to its bright space, cheery coffee bags, and concenient location 🌞🌞

Goodside coffee with no good service. Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t good let’s just there. The staff seemed annoyed, after my friend ask to pay for a shot of espresso to add to her drink the women said she needed to pay for it so my friend went over to do so but was told it was fine and didn’t need to by the cashier…as we were walking out another worker ran outside after us and shouted that we still needed to pay for the shot, we informed him what the cashier said to us and walked off. This action should have been avoided if he would’ve just asked the cashier if we paid or not. I will happily pay for quality service and a good atmosphere but Goodside coffee isn’t going to be one of them.

Service declines when highly busy and never have enough places to sit. Good coffee though

We visited this coffee shop and had a great experience. There’s plenty of street parking and the space inside is spacious and welcoming.

They use beans from Cat & Cloud, which made the coffee stand out in both flavor and quality. We ordered bagels, a pastry, and two lattes — the vanilla rose and the honey lavender. The staff kindly reheated the pastry, which made it even better. Both lattes were smooth, aromatic, and not overly sweet.

The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall good vibe of the place.

The bagels and cream cheese here are immaculate. My mocha was great, no complaints. The dishes were clean and so was the space. The staff were super friendly, too.

My only complaint with this cafe is that the menu is printed in small print right by the register, so there's no way to find what you want until you're first in line. It's become in issue in Sacramento that so many cafes do tiny sheets of paper for their menu because it prioritizes aesthetic over function. It slows the line when people can't figure out what they want, and it is an accessibility issue for those with visual impairments. Once you notice this phenomenon in Sacramento, you'll have a hard time looking past it.

Lovely atmosphere, good WiFi and almost always has seating. Drinks are good, not great. And I wish they had more vegan food options.

A friend recommended the mint matcha, which was on their winter menu, and it was amazing. I came back today and tried the honey lavender latte, which was even better! I love the space and will be back again to support.

Amazing espresso, served right. I also had a lavender latte. The lavender is not overpowering. A bit on the sweet side if you don't customize it, but pleasant nevertheless.
