This is a strip mall eatery that offers food with a genuine Mediterranean taste. I had the chicken and my lunch partner had the lamb and beef. Each meal was seasoned perfectly and the veggies and hummus were on point. I will definitely eat here again. The restaurant was clean and sort of sterile given the location.

Wanted a gyro, but couldn't locate it on the menu. That was a good thing, because I asked for a recommendation, and the gentleman recommended a chicken shawarma, and it didn't disappoint! Fresh crisp veggies, lots of flavor and the sauce was excellent!

The chicken and beef and lamb platters were tasty, rice was just a little dry, would have liked more pita bread included in platter. Serving size was good. Everything looked clean, a few tables to eat inside, we took our food to go. Staff was very nice.

Recently, I've been on the hunt for a new favorite Mediterranean spot in Sacramento. This was definitely not it. I stopped by a few days ago, and ordered the Super Duper Platter and a piece of baklava. When I asked the cashier what the Super Duper Platter came with, he pointed at a picture of a different platter, and said (in an annoyed/condescending tone), "With rice. Like this." Okay... To answer my question, the Super Duper Platter came with chicken and lamb shawarma served over seasoned rice, a (tiny) side of Greek salad, and a generous portion of hummus with pita bread. My order came out incredibly fast. Like, too fast. I noticed that no one shredded meat fresh off of the spit for my order-- for whatever reason, it had been pre-shaved before I came in. The hummus was good, but the pita was terrible. I mean, this was possibly the worst pita I've ever tried. It tasted like flour, and nothing else. Dry, flavorless, caked in flour, and awful. The Greek salad was great, and so was the vinaigrette. I just wished the portion was bigger, because I could have eaten a lot more of it. The rice was interesting. It was yellow, but didn't taste like saffron. I wondered what it was seasoned with, but couldn't put my finger on it. The shawarma was terrible. It was the worst shawarma I've ever tried. The lamb tasted like sausage, and I wished I had been given less of it. The chicken tasted as if it had started to spoil before it was cooked. It was dry, a little shriveled, and just bad. All of the meat tasted dirty, as if it had been re-heated in some dirty oil, and all of it was so heavily seasoned that it was hard to eat. (I normally like a lot of seasoning, but this was too much, even for me.) I didn't finish the meal, and ended up throwing some of it away, which is crazy, because it was expensive, and I don't like wasting food... but I just couldn't force myself to finish the shawarma and rice. It was just so bad. The baklava was amazing. Fresh, sticky, syrupy, and perfect. So, in summary: the hummus, salad, and baklava were great, the rice was okay, and the pita bread and shawarma were terrible. Overall, considering the price tag versus the quality and portion of food that I received, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a while. Even though the salad, hummus, and baklava were all really good, I don't see myself coming back here again.

Good food but haven't been inside the building yet. I usually DoorDash my food but delivery is always good and correct with orders.

I enjoy the Greek salad. It's very fresh and I like how attentive the owner is to details. If I ask for it to be on the side (it's on the side). Not on my salad and then it's oh I apologize like I was not heard. It's been one of my new go to

This place is fantastic. Super friendly, happy to talk out your order in the way I want it. Hummus and falafel is on point. The dining area a little sterile, but as my grandmother always said, there's no such thing as sterile dining rooms, just sterile diners.

Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed how patient the cashier was and how he took the time to answer my questions. Anyways... on to the food. My wife and I have driven past this place a couple of times, but tonight, we decided to try it out. I got the lamb and chicken kabob plate, and my wife got the super duper plate. The pictures of the kabobs on this yelp page must not be accurate because the amount of meat on both plates had to be the same amount on a kids' meal. The chicken and lamb kabob plate had about 6 pieces of meat in total. They were the size of half dollars. It was barely enough for 6 bites... of food. The super duper plate was so tiny compared to what we can get at an established restaurant and at a food truck. The thinly sliced chicken and lamb gyro on my wife's plate were not only just thin, but the portion was extremely tiny. My wife and I ended up disappointed with lots of rice leftover because there was nothing to eat the rice with. The decent tasting item was the samosa smashed with chickpeas. Again, the portion was one tiny samosa with a chickpea sauce. Price was just not worth it. The truth is we ended up still being hungry and had to spend some more money for dinner elsewhere.

Gyro Genie is best in business when it comes to food taste & quality consistency. I could say that as It's been a goto place for me for last 6-7 months, Food is amazing. Tried there weekend special Mandi , platter and Halwa puri. Each and every item was cooked to perfection and very well-balanced spice levels. Have been there multiple times, and never been disappointed. Highly recommend this place
