Happy Takeout

Don’t use menu they charge more than what’s on the menu. Menu says 11.75 for walnut chicken entree. They tried to charge me 14.95 +tax for the same entree should her what it said online but they didn’t honor the price that is currently on the menu.

Order the 12.95 dinner special, and get the orange chicken. You get plenty of food that tastes great

I received chicken fried rice and the rice was dry! I also received egg rolls and the vegetables were soggy and the rap was over cooked! This isn’t for everyone, I don’t believe that I’ll visit them ever again! I went on the strength of a food review on instagram, I won’t do that again!
The people are nice, but the food, not so much, save your money! Go elsewhere!

Very bad experience here. Food is cold, and also the place is really dirty. And also the manger is really disrespectful towards some customers. And they are not being professional. The restaurant should be close.

Best I've had in a while . It actually tasted like it's supposed to. Every place I've been to tasted like oil . Not here though . It's great

Since I moved to Sac I have been on the search for the holy triangle of Chinese food. Not too far away, not too salty, and absolutely loaded with flavor! They do it right at Happy Takeout. Quick service and you can tell they love food and their customers a TON

Best wonton soup ever (they use napa cabbage!!). Best cheese wontons. I’m lactose intolerant but I can never leave without adding some to my order. Get one or the other (or both) and even your worst day will become happier.

Loved my combo! Black pepper crispy chicken, chow mein and fried rice It was so good and just the right amount.. and thanks to the staff for being so helpful and kind and accommodating.

The staff was nice and the food is very good, I'm very happy to have been able to eat some food from there.

AMAZING portion size, quality and food!! The salt and pepper fish was divine. The crunchy outer layer and the beautiful, flavorful tender texture on the inside is everything!! They were so kind to call and confirm my order when I added a special request.

Huge serving sizes and yummy plates, got salt n pepper chicken which came with both rice AND noodles, could have upgraded to Hong Kong style noodles (which I will do next time ?). Thank you Happy Takeout!!!

Ordered the orange chicken combo. Chow mein was super dry and the rice just tasted like oil. Orange chicken wasn’t great either, kinda disappointed. The egg rolls tasted like they were once frozen.

This place is officially my #1 spot for Chinese food! Wow everything was so yummy! I got the dinner plate with orange chicken and normally I’m able to finish a plate but they serve you a GREAT amount of food so I got full! The prices are perfect and just everything is perfect! It’s more a takeout place than dine in (it’s a small building) but I didn’t mind that at all since I ordered for pick up. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!

I want to love this place, I really do. I keep coming back as it’s my local Chinese food spot, but the only thing it’s been consistently good at is being consistently bad. Food is over fried, somehow dry and super oily at the same time, flavorless, just tastes OLD. It can’t even be doctored up at home because it’s so dried out.

Writing this review because I keep giving it a shot and needing the reminder to not come back. Adding a star because they give you good portions, unfortunately those portions are mostly inedible. I also didn’t get the egg roll and wonton in my dinner combo which was disappointing but I imagine those are fairly inedible as well.
